Favorite Fall or Halloween Memory Ratings Swap

I love Fall!! Love the fact that the whole nature is changing colors! Everyone loves to see how the leaves fall off the trees and form a majestic carpet on the ground. As a little girl I remember loving to walk over these beautiful crunchy leaves. Even now I still enjoy doing that. I probably never get tired of loving this season and everything else that comes with it! Of course, I love to eat pumpkin pie and drink pumpkin spice coffee, bake some yummy pumpkin bread, cinnamon rolls, the works...The weather is nice and crispy, cooler and it's time to put on a sweather!! Love this season!

My fave Halloween memory is when I dressed up as the Joker and so I got into Monkey World for free 🦧🐒

I love watching Spooky movies like Hocus Pocus, Nightmare before Christmas and Halloween with my children. I also get to say to my hubby who isn't the biggest horror fan "Come on, it's halloween month" when he is complaining about yet another horror movie. I like putting on halloween songs and dancing, making jack o lanterns and dressing up. Being a natural person interested in spooky things I feel not so much of a look in October because everyone is in on it in October.

My favorite Halloween memory is my dad taking my trick-or-treating. He would take me around the entire neighborhood and I always ended up with enough candy to be able to share a bunch with my older brother. Now I like to be part of making memories for the kids in my family. I make little treat bags especially for them :)

This is my favorite season of the year. The temperatures begin to cool, the leaves change into their beautiful colors, there is a crispness in the air, Fall crafts shows & festivals start up, and so many memories like meeting my husband the first time and driving thru the Adirondack Mtns. I would tell him him how I could see lilac color in the trees and he would say I was crazy. Honestly, I thought he might be color blind back then. There is also hayrides, mountain retreats but best of all is my porch time. I enjoy my coffee out on my porch in my rocker watching Mother Nature’s dance. Happy Fall Y’all 🎃🌻🍃🍁🍂

I used to dislike fall itself, because it meant that winter was right on its heels. My son, is a Halloween lover. He watched Scooby-Doo from the age of 2. Used to call pumpkins, "boo-dahs"! Enjoyed talking with the people that dressed like the grim reaper at our local pumpkin patch every year, from the time he was 4. And loved watching Ghost Hunters with me when he was about 7-10. Now, I don't mind fall - since moving to Florida. I am a paranormal investigator, things always pick up around Halloween. I have always loved fall colors, I adore all things pumpkin, and, growing up in the northeast, love all things Maple, and McIntosh Apples (they come out in late sept). I used to love ha ding out candy and seeing the kid's costumes. Sadly, I now live in a 55+ community and we don't trick or treaters 😒. 🎃🧡🎃🧡🎃🧡🎃

I guess I would have to say my favorite, well most memorable Halloween was 30 years ago. I was working for a little specialty shop on 19th IN THE HEIGHTS. It's a 2 block area that is a group of specialty shops, cozy restaurants and antique stores. Next door to the shop I worked in was a police community center. They organized a Halloween block party and all the merchants participated. I wore a purple gown More like a moo-moo and and a purple and lavender clown wig. I dressed at my girlfriend's house and before we left she sprayed us down with gold glitter. (When they moved there was still gold glitter on the walls and the ceiling. LOL!) At times my boss had to be the show-off so she was handling the shop. One of the officers asked me if I would help him for a little while. "Sure, what do you need?" He handed me about 50-60 inflated balloons and shoved me out the door to face about 90-100 small children. It was a windy night and these balloons swirled and tangled and all I could hear was "I want that one! No, THAT one!" It was so much fun, not really. Then he thought he was going to give me another batch but I was ready for someone else to have that fun. I politely declined and headed for the food booths. I now enjoy the Fall/Halloween swaps on Swapbot and about every other year I get to hand out candy and visit with our neighbors who all come out of their houses and we have a kind of block party of our own.

Hello everyone!!! Halloween you say??? We never used to have halloween when i was growing up in Italy. We saw halloween on american movies, but i was puzzled on why on hearth people would want to go get scared in haunted houses etc.... Also watching the Halloween movies did not make for a "pleasant" atmosphere.... Then i moved to the uk and omg before the "halloween is a festival of the devil" police Halloween was soooo coool. So many people dressing up, so many children in the street, so many houses "dressing up" (not so many nowadays) I still remember our first halloween, tragically unprepared having to run to the cornershop to stock up on candy, and a fantastic costume of a child that was going around as a table with a severed head on it. (I totally stole the idea for my second halloween) I am now a total halloween convert and my house stands proud full of tombs, bones and ghosts amongst a road of boredom where nobody decorates..... Long live halloween

I absolutely LOVE Fall and Halloween. I look forward to it all year long! Growing up in West Virginia was a delight for sure, kind of an idyllic childhood where we had a group of neighborhood friends that would all play together, we would run through the woods, climb trees, ride our motorcycles and 4 wheelers, skate in the streets, skateboard....you name it, we did it. But, hands down Halloween was the highlight of the year. The leaves turning beautiful oranges, reds and browns then dropping onto the streets and sidewalks so that when you would walk you could hear the rustle and crunch beneath your feet. During October the street was filled with leaves, every house was decorated with Fall and Spooky Halloween decorations and I LOVED it. I do not really know why it impacted me so much but to this day Halloween just gives me that 'at home' feeling that reminds me of my childhood. Spooky decor, haunted houses & Fall weather??? Yes please, bring it on!!

My favorite Halloween memory is from when I was about 18 years old. I lived in Dallas (TX) at that time and it was an especially cold Halloween. My best friend normally took her four younger sisters trick-or-treating. However, she was working on this particular day so I took the girls out to trick-or-treat. I don't have any younger siblings but I had known these girls for a couple years and loved them like family; I was so happy to get to act as a surrogate older sister. I remember being so excited to go out in a new neighborhood and the girls were so cute in their costumes. The only setback was the weather. We all had to wear our winter coats over our costumes to keep warm. The up side to this was the number of kids out was much smaller than normal. At each house we visited, the girls would knock or ring the bell and when the door was opened they would pull their coats open really wide and sing out "trick-or-treat". Everyone was really generous with candy due to the low number of kids out. The girls really enjoyed themselves and were so excited to examine their candy haul after we got back inside. (P.S. I am still best friends with the girls older sister some 30+ years later.)
