Description:

Oh my! Thank you all so much for the positive response to the first two cards!

I was inspired by Shana at Shanouki Art on YouTube to try some altered playing cards. I think you will find her videos easy to watch and very informative. I will primarily be using her videos for inspiration, but feel free to choose your own path.

The requirements for altering are simple. You must use playing cards. Decorating the back of card is not required. I will provide one element that needs to be included on the card. This is not just stickers and a go. This altering requires different mixed mediums like gesso, ModgePodge or gel mediums, watercolors, paints, ephemera, textures, etc. My personal mixed medium stash is far from huge, but I have the basics which are not costly. I am far from Shana’s ease in creating, but am willing to try because it looks like so much fun.

For the third, Here

Third Card: Monochromatic - All White

(The playing card CAN show through your design. If you add a word, like Shana does, it can have colored letters like silver, gold, or black.)

Remember my videos are posted for ideas. They do not need to be followed. Please release your own creativity. Also, these cards do fit in the sleeves we use for our ATC creations. Just a thought to protect the artwork during mailing.

I hope you will join me with this new obsession I have. Let’s have some fun with trying new methods to create special works of playing card art. As always, I appreciate your joining my swaps!
