Description:

How much do you love Halloween?

For this swap, you will be sending your partner 10 items individually packaged in ten separate envelopes labelled October 22 to October 31 put together in a large manila envelope. They will all be Halloween themed items as follows.

! - You will probably have to buy items for this swap. Good websites for online ordering are amazon, etsy, hallmark and paperchase. If you have other suggestions please leave them in the comments below.

  • October 22 - Day 1 will be a Halloween GREETING CARD with good wishes inside. A blank greeting card with a joke will NOT suffice. Tell your partner what you like about Halloween and how you generally spend the holiday.

  • October 23 - Day 2 will be Halloween LETTER SET. Etsy is a great place for getting this one. Your set must include at least one envelope and two sheets of paper.

  • October 24 - Day 3 will be Halloween WASHI TAPE SAMPLES. You must send at least three different designs of at least 40cm.

  • October 25 - Day 4 will be Halloween SCRAPBOOK PAPER. You must send at LEAST four DIFFERENT designs and a total of eight pages. Minimum size is 5x5 inches, and you may have to cut the paper down to size.

  • October 26 - Day 5 will be Halloween STICKERS. You must send at least ten stickers. Tiny ones don’t count.

  • October 27 - Day 6 will be Halloween MEMORIES. You will send your partner a short letter telling your favourite Halloween memory.

  • October 28 - Day 7 will be Halloween EPHEMERA. You must send at least five pieces of ephemera.

  • October 29 - Day 8 will be Halloween ART. Even if it’s the crudest stick figure cartoon gag, it counts. But you will need to use your own personal skill for this.

  • October 30 - Day 9 will be SENDER’S CHOICE. You can use a repeat of the previous suggestions or you can come up with your own idea. You can even look to your partner's profile for an idea.

  • October 31 - Day 10 will be PHOTOS. That’s right. Photos of you in Halloween costumes throughout the years. Must send at least one, more is preferable. If you have no pictures of yourself in a costume send a picture of your "dream costume."

MANILA ENVELOPE - Please decorate your large manila envelope with a Halloween theme. This doesn’t have to be very intricate, it can even be a small collage or a pencil drawing, just keep with the theme.

Because of the scale and effort of this swap I will be SUPER MONITORING who joins. I WILL be checking profiles as well as the hall of shame/frustrations forum. You must have completed at least 5 swaps and have a 5 rating to join. You may have a 4.9 if you have completed at least 100 swaps and a 4.85 if you have completed at least 200. You may not have ANY unexplained 1’s and I’ll be checking 3’s. If you have ever flaked for any reason this isn’t the swap for you.

POSTAGE - Because you are sending a manila envelope and this is an international swap yes the postage will be a bit expensive. For the UK expect a maximum of £9.22 although I estimate the average envelope should cost no more than £7. For the United States, it depends on the weight of the envelope with prices starting at $1.20 for international mail increasing by $0.20 for each additional ounce (correct me if I'm wrong). Keep in mind you cannot insert a stiff board because large envelopes must be flexible (bend at least one inch) to be considered envelopes and not packages.

ANGELING - I really want this swap to work out and I’m going to do my best to weed out flakers, but there are a few situations in which I will angel and here are the courses of action I will take.

  1. Your partner tells you straight away they aren’t going to be able to send an envelope for some reason. I will try to get an envelope to you with all of the contents ASAP.

  2. Your partner is never heard from again. I will try to get the envelope to you ASAP but if for some reason it is late, you will have the option of receiving some Thanksgiving or Chanukah/Christmas stationery from me.

  3. You decide to wait on an envelope, but Halloween passes and you are empty-handed. You will have the option of receiving some Thanksgiving or Chanukah/Christmas stationery from me.

Give a 5 if you receive everything and it meets swap requirements. Give a 3 if you receive some things or at least three items don’t meet swap requirements. Only give a 1 if you receive nothing.
