Hi swappers!

Since we've expanded the types of journals in the group, I thought we would create a Flowish journal for our partners!

What's a Flowish journal? Here's a definition I found:

Modelled on a very beautiful magazine called Flow, these junk journals are supply journals. The publishers in Holland make Flow magazine for paper lovers. The contents are removable and reusable for artistic activities.

Basically, you create a journal with removable papers and supplies for your partner to use in his/her creative adventures. You may staple or sew at the center fold or simply stack the folded pieces together and bind them at the center with an elastic band. You needn't include ONLY papers. You can create pockets on the pages for additional supplies or add anything 'foldable' (fabric, ribbons, trims) and attach at the center. Be creative!

Let's create a booklet that measures at least 5"x7"; every piece included will not measure 5"x7" and that's fine. Larger is fine. Try for a variety of interesting pieces (e.g., doilies, handmade papers, beautiful scrapbook papers, wallpaper pieces, book pages, programs, menus, lace, etc.). The options are endless!

Please create some type of cover--nothing elaborate--that measures at least 5"x7".

HERE is a tutorial by the YouTube artist, Linda Israel, in case you'd like some initial direction.

Begin now to assemble some beautiful items to include in the Flowish Journal you'll be sending to your partner and enjoy the process!

Such an awesome idea! Not sure if I have enough cool stuff to assemble one, so I'm watching for now.

Suzanne, you are the sewing queen! Include lots of awesome fabrics/sewn thingies. Come on--join!

Yes - I love this kind of journal!

Question - suggested or minimum number of "pages"/"pieces" inside? Just so we are generally on the same page for swapping....OK, pun intended ;)

Good question. . . I'd say you should include at least 10 folded pages (which makes 20 pages in the journal). No matter how few we include, it will still be considered a package by the post office . . . so if you're inspired to add more, please do so.

Thanks @isabellasnow - sounds perfect.

Fun! I’m living in Holland, now, so I know Flow magazine!
