Stash Socks - Brights

Mia, Would you be willing to move the send date to May 5th or so? A lot of us are on Social Security (I am widowed with a severly disabled on). It would make the postage so much easier to budget in, particularly since this is International. I love International swaps but I have to be careful with planning ahead for those shipments. I would love to do this swap with you as the hostess but without the change in send date, and with the other obligations, I am unsure if I could do it without that change. Just to the 5th would make all the dfference.

Hi! I'm excited about this swap!! I have been knitting for about 30 years on and off but I've never been much of a sock knitter. Just recently I started knitting socks and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I have tried the patterns using two sets of circular needles and I have knitted several pairs with double pointed needles. i like both ways. I have heard that there are some patterns out there for socks just using two regular straight needles and also using one pair of circular needles. If you get my name (or even if you don't!) and you know where any of these patterns are, could you please let me know?? I'd really appreciate it! Thank you so so much!

I prefer superwash if you have, as its strongest for knitting socks. If you dont have it, send what you have got. We use knitted socks 7-8 mths a year and I love making them.

Hi Sandy - I got your name and I'll tell you what I know about other methods of knitting socks - I've recently seen a pattern that someone (http://savannahchik.com/) knit sideways but I don't recall where it's from. There is also the "magic loop" method of knitting on one circ, but I haven't done it yet. I believe there is a booklet out there on how to do it - you could check online on where to get it or maybe there is a tutorial out there. I'll get your yarn out this weekend!

I sent out Lexy's parcel yesterday, it's hand dyed 75% wool 25% polyamid, wound into 2 balls.

Sandy, there's is a one straight needle sock on Knitty and one on Magknits, and I just knitted Elfine using magic loop.

I mailed the package yesterday morning - she said 4-5 days. I hope you like it!

Knit or dye, I received it! Thanks so much for the Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn. A color I'd never pick out which is why I'm doing this. I get stuck with the same rosie, pinks so thanks for adding a different color to my stash!!

Im stunned. Today I recieved the most wonderful packet from Guinifer. Ive no words to descibe my thought when I unwrapped all she had enclosed, except from the lovely sock yarn with the most beautiful color it was a beautiful box of green tea (I collect tea boxes :)), hand cream and cuticle cream which smells wondeful (have never seen that brand before), a pop up caddy, sweets (yummi, already had two :)), bamboo stitches and lovely sock pattern (will try it when I arrive from Japan). Everything was so well presented. You have really made my day. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Oh I got a very special package today. It is great!! It is a sock weight self patterning yarn that is citrus colors plus some aqua and white. Now here is the cool part:

I was kicking around KnitPicks the other day and buying this and that for swaps and whatnot and wanted to buy some sock yarn for myself. But I just couldn't justify it. I mean, how could I possibly buy for myself when I was there present shopping? (It is just a hangup I have - raised that way)

So anyway....

I go to the mailbox today and guess what? The yarn I was going to buy for myself and didn't, was sitting there waiting for me. It was sent by the beautiful and charming Lizandjuan to me for this swap. So I got to eat my cake and have it too. :)

I have yet to recieve anything from ANGEL Susanna Anderson! I am so disappointed! This was the first swap I signed up for and I get burned!!! Irresponsible swappers should be banned after the first no send! Evil cheats!
