Description:

THIS IS THE EXACT SAME SWAP THAT kath85 STARTED BUT COULDN'T CONTINUE TO HOST AND I WANTED IT TO CONTINUE . .SO I STARTED IT AGAIN HERE.

Time to slip into those high heels and smooth on that red lipstick because we're about to...go to the kitchen!

You will send one partner a vintage apron (or a vintage style handmade apron - no store bought, please) and one vintage cookbook in decent condition. Think Betty Crocker or similar. No retro housewife would be complete without a string of beads, so include a thrifted pearl/bead necklace too! All of these things should be relatively inexpensive at your local thrift/antique store. Remember to include a small note on a pretty notecard because it's only polite and probably what any retro lady would do anyway.

To join you must, must, must have a 4.9 rating or higher and at least 5 mailed and rated swaps by the time partners are assigned. Flakers will not be tolerated!! All items must be sent on time and every one needs to rate fairly and promptly. In other words, as soon as you receive your package, rate it! Don't wait until the next time you plan to log into Swap-bot. Due to shipping, this will be for US swappers only.

As always, feel free to let me know if there are questions, concerns, or suggestions and have lots of fun!

So... just to make sure, can the apron can be from a thrift store too or does it have to be handmade?

sweetz15767 12/22/2008 #

the previous swap holder told me batarang if it was in real good condition it could be thrifted but it had to be nice not all yucky :P wich is good because alot of stores have reallllly cute ones

If you ever want to include Canada, I'd love to join this one.

I would prefer it to be thrifted and truly from a "time ago" . .but if you absolutely cannot find one, making one is ok too - as long as it truly looks vintage. I was beginning to worry I would not find one then I stumbled upon a great little shop that had tons of them . .I had a hard time choosing ONE!!!!

I took this swap over from someone who had already started it - and their guidelines were US only, so I felt compelled to keep it that way . .please consider starting your own in Canada or International!!!!

Due to unemployment and finances, I am going to have to drop this swap. I'm sorry, because it looked like a lot of fun. I have a vintage apron collection. Hope things get better and I can participate some other time.

I hope this swap happens again. Im new and am dont have the rating qualifications yet. Too bad because I have a TON of vintage Aprons!!!

I have a lot of vintage beads, can I make the jewelry from vintage beads, or does it HAVE to be a thrifted necklace? I will join regardless, but just wondered.

Vintage is AWESOME!!!! Either way - they would be second-hand - lol.

Good Feng Shui Kitchen with Easy Feng Shui Tips

The kitchen is the feng shui part of the home that nourishes and sustains life. Feng Shui-wise, it is the most important part of your home. The kitchen is also a feng shui symbol of wealth, thus:

* for good feng shui, do not to have your kitchen close to the main door or to the back door, where the energy can easily escape.

The food you eat gives you energy. For this energy to be of high and healing quality, the food needs to be prepared in a harmonious and well-organized kitchen with a balanced flow of Chi, or energy. As we constantly exchange energy with our surroundings, a good feng shui kitchen leads to a good spirited chef, which, in turn, leads to good energy meals for a happier family!

Good nutrition is good feng shui, so add healthy, organic foods to your diet, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. Besides the high nutritional value, organic fruits and vegetables carry strong healing vibrations from earth that your body dearly needs.

Here are a few more basic feng shui kitchen tips:

* The kitchen should have several levels of proper lighting, be airy and spacious, clean, bright and welcoming.

* For good feng shui, keep the kitchen simple and do not overload it with gadgets.

* Keep the clutter at bay.

* Fresh flowers bring beautiful uplifting energy to your kitchen. Place a bowl with fruits, a vase of flowers, or a living plant on your kitchen table, windowsill, or wherever the layout of your kitchen allows.

* Choose colors that blend well and feel good together.
Feng Shui-wise, color yellow is a good choice for the kitchen, as it is good for your digestion. You can choose this color as light as "butter yellow" or as vibrant as "squash yellow."

The Kitchen was considered to be the heart of the home since ancient times; use feng shui to make it a happy and healthy heart! Follow these simple feng shui tips and create a home where your family and friends will share many beautiful moments together.
