Just wanted to tell you what a nice swap this is. I would love to join except I moved to Florida 20 years ago and those long terrible winters have been left behind, thankfully. But I'm going to check to see if you have other swaps, because I'm very impressed by this one. It's always so refreshing to see a well-written, thoughtful swap!

I love love love well thought out swaps as well! However I do live in a cold climate I would love to get some thoughtful swap :) So gonna watch till I can sign up!

Just one question does the hot cocoa have to be locally made too (I hope that's not a dumb question) I haven't found any in my area.

Greenwoodtree 12/ 9/2008 #

Hot cocoa and coffee does not have to be locally made...Most places Ive lived you can find some but I dont expect people to drive all over wasting gas to find it.

meggert 12/ 9/2008 #

It's on my watchlist! I'll be in! I love winter comfort!!!

Crazipurplelady 12/10/2008 #

By my name, you can see I love purple things that have style and use, and I prefer coffee over cocoa or tea.

AuntB 12/10/2008 #

I also live in the cold climate and you sure need a great pair of socks or scarf. I do love making warm socks.I like coffee or tea.

I would prefer to receive a nice Thick pair of socks...I wear a size 10 in ladies, and love natural fibers. I would also love and prefer hot chocolate...I can get all the tea I want. Being cold-natured, and having Fibromyalgia, I would prefer to receive very soothing and warming items without artificial fragrances (essential oils ok).

Crazipurplelady 12/21/2008 #

Oh, as far as the warm & fuzzies, I would prefer socks over gloves. My floors are cold in the winter, even here in Southern California. Today it's 44, which isn't that cold, but the front of my house doesn't have heating ducts. Thanks!

SadiesParty 12/27/2008 #

Would love a nice, warm pair of gloves. Prefer coffee but I do love cocoa

meggert 12/28/2008 #

I would love a pair of nice warm socks or fuzzy slipper socks (no toe socks please) and some coffee!

StaceyLynn 12/29/2008 #

I don't drink coffee, but I LOVE hot chocolate! anything warm would be nice! It is 32 here today! (In Texas) I don't really need gloves.

sherrykadan 12/29/2008 #

I only drink Lipton tea but I would love some and something to keep me warm. I am not enjoying this 30 degree weather. i don't wear gloves or scarves.

crochetjunkie 12/31/2008 #

I love this idea!! I also drink regular Lipton Tea (bags not instant please). I am looking forward to that keep me warm something. I have been freezing for weeks now! LOL

I can't have chocolate right now due to gall stone issues, so I would welcome anything white chocolate. :)

meggert 01/ 1/2009 #

I would love some coffee and some warm socks! No toe socks please! (they make me crazy)

kchristisen 01/ 1/2009 #

I love handmade scarves, and candles are a big favorite in our house. Gloves are great too....it's so cold right now. Fleece blankets are fun too! This is a great idea!

sherrykadan 01/ 1/2009 #

I am also allergic to mollasses so please nothing like that.

Love candles, home made stuff, and suprises.

NaughtyElf 01/ 1/2009 #

I love anything fleece, but please no wool, it makes me itch something crazy! I would love some good hot chocolate, but do not care for the flavored kind like mint, raspberry, etc. Other than that, I am very open and looking forward to this swap so much!

Hey potencial partner! Here are some likes and dislikes:

I love hot drinks but I'm not very fond of any type of tea. In terms of all food items, I appreciate everything but local or small-production items are not exactly special. I like things I can't readily buy at my own grocery store!

Both my boyfriend and I love smelly bath items-- but we don't have a bath :( We still like to use bath salts and whatnot, though...esp in minty/methol/citrus scents....we just sprinkle it on the floor! :)

Loooove any knit item as long as the fibers are natural, love em all! It's cold up here so we like our fuzzies...

check my profile for more likes.

Thanks all :)

I am so excited to be a part of this swap!

  1. I prefer flavored coffees or hot chocolate -- instant is fine, but please no Swiss Miss Cocoa (that brand just doesn't taste right to me)

  2. Warm socks would be AWESOME, but I wear ladies' 11W or men's Large (9-10). I also LOVE scarves (long ones!) and bath goodies (citrus, spice, mint - nothing "flowery"). Anything suggested in this category would be wonderful, except candles and mittens/gloves.

  3. See #2 preferences above. Also, since pottery was mentioned in the suggestions, a large coffee cup or soup mug would be wonderful! Oh, or one of those eye pillows filled with lavender & flax seeds that can be heated (or cooled).

Please see my profile for other likes & dislikes. Thanks bunches!!!

lizunstoppable 01/ 2/2009 #

I love hot chocolate. I already have the mini marshmallows. I don't like coffee or tea.

I use candles and bath salts a lot, so they would be appreciated. I don't think I need any mugs. If you do make your own pottery, I would appreciate a dish that could hold burning herbs (sweet grass or sage).

It is very cold here so any thing warm would be appreciated (socks, mittens, scarf, or blanket).

Thank you!

So, I have you all beat on temperatures! It has been hovering right around 40 below here in Fairbanks this week!

I am a huge fan of locally roasted whole bean coffee if you can get some. If not a really yummy decadent hot chocolate would be great! Drinking chocolate and spicy chocolate are some of my favorites. Not a big fan of tea.

I would absolutely love a nice thick pair of handmade wooly socks or mittens. (remember it is 40 below here) I love fun, funky socks and mittens. Stars and stripes (not together) are my favorites! Other than that pretty much anything that is not scented, no candles for me please! I rarely find one that I am not allergic to.

I absolutely love handcrafted items, so anything made by you will make me feel warm! ;)

sherrykadan 01/ 4/2009 #

I'm not great at handmaking stuff so I will have to cheat and go to Mississippi Gift Co. They have the best stuff made by Mississippi craftsmen and artist. The pottery there is to die for !!!

shellipw 01/ 5/2009 #

I would prefer tea or cocoa, and independent/local soaps or lotion/candle. I prefer fleece over wool for anything homemade, but really and thing crafty would be nice, a painted or sketch or pottery piece would be nice, I am not too pick, I have color and other information on my profile,

cwlanc2 01/ 5/2009 #

I love tea and cocoa, not so big on coffee. Love handmade , great if by you or someone else. I am always in the need of mittens. No candles but soap or bath stuff would be fine. Big on colors. Bright and bold, or soft and pastel, whatever looks pretty to you. Big on texture also. Love soft and fluffy.

Muffina 01/ 5/2009 #

hm, I seem to have not edited correctly! I meant to say that local small-town items ARE special!!! I'm a goof-- I hope my partner sees this or regonizes my mistake!!
