50's cute bag swap

Is this a store bought item or handmade item?

Could you post a pic of the bag you would want made? Or do you just want it made with vintage fabrics.

Hi Guys, this is a handmade swap, i will edit the swap info. The bag should be able to hold the usual amount in the average ladies bag, so think hand bag/tote/library bag, but dont get hung up on zippers, unless you would like to!Rememebr the fabric doesnt have to be vintage, it could be repro, and this is more than acceptable.

Would pinup girls be considered 50s style? I have some of that type fabric that I once saw listed somewhere as 50s style.

Pin ups and any 50's theme is fine, I think its up to you to interpret the theme, and lets face it we will all have something lovely and lots of fun making for this. It might be best to check that your partner wont be offended by pin ups. I wouldnt but some strict Christians/other might.

swap started, what fun, now to go looking for fabrics. Is Pucci swirl print, polka dots, or pyschedelic strobe patterns 50s print?

I personally like Cath Kidston flower chic too, so I guess big kitschy flowers is 50s too?

I like pastel combinations of blues, greens, pinks, mauves, lilacs ...girly and dusty old vintage looks, haha sort of Miss Marple. I would very much appreciate a long handle that can go over my shoulders, and inner and outer pockets for cell phones/bus cards. Tell you the truth, I would use it for carrying swap parcels to the post office!

I'd love to get a pinup bag! I love most stuff, my only preference is for long straps on my bag please, I can never get them over my shoulder.

Ghostknitter, Pucci and psychedelic are 60's really. Polka dots are very 50's I think.

polka dots it is. Now I think about it Pucci and psychedelic are mini skirts and thigh high boots, while polka dots are florals are big circular skirts :?

polkadotpebble, sorry about the all caps. I was using my parents computer and their keyboard is messed up. My main concern is that purplexdolphin's partner recieves. As long as it is someone who is still in the swap and hasn't been deleted like she has. I mean, yes, I would like to recieve also. But making sure her partner recieves is my biggest thing. And if we have to, I want to set up a private swap so that ratings can be given.

If anone here was supposed to recieve from purplexdolphin, please let me know when you find out. I've been trying to contact the swap hostess for weeks now to get a new partner and I've hit a deadend. No contact or anything. And I think it's pretty crappy. At this point, I don't care about not recieving, but I would like to make up for purplexdolphins stupidity if possible.

Well I think it's pretty crappy that the hostess just dropped from the face of Swap-Bot and didn't even send her own swap. I mean, what's the point of ripping other people off?
