Swap categories: Themed  Nature  Whimsey Jars
Number of people in swap:9
Location:International
Type:None
Last day to signup/drop:November 30, 2008
Date items must be sent by:January 15, 2009
Number of swap partners:1
Description:

The dates above are tentative, if there is enough feedback asking me to move them back, I will do so!

I have set the sign up date a month away so that people will have lots of time to build up/fix ratings. And have given a month an a half to assemble your whimsy. I know the holidays can be a very busy time... :)

For this swap you will make one woodland themed, medium sized, whimsy jar for one partner, (about the size of an average jam jar). This is an international swap. Because of this, please feel free to use a well cleaned, well decorated plastic jar, to save on postage. (If there is enough demand I will host a US & C swap). Handmade items are encouraged but not required.

Here are some of my ideas of woodland themed things:acorns, apples, badgers, bears, berries, brambles, branches, chipmunks, deer, elves, fallen logs, ferns & fiddleheads, fireflies, forest fairy tales, foxes, fungi, gnomes, hedgehogs, moss, moths, mushrooms, owls, rabbits, raccons, skunks, songbirds, sparrows, sprites, squirrels, stumps, toadstools, trees...

Neat things to include may be: things made of wood, fauxbois things, brown things, red things, green things, buttons, charms, embellishments, ribbon, trim, chipboard pieces, stickers, atcs, teeny tiny felties, papers, stamps, little figurines, vintage images, collage images, ephemera, embroidery floss, folded fabric squares...

To Participate You Must...

  • have a 4.9 rating or higher
  • have completed at least three 'package-type' swaps (no e-swaps or postcard swaps, etc.) I will swap mini whimsy jars with newbies who cannot get rated in time, please PM me for details
  • no no sends within the past 6 months If you have been rated unfairly for something, please pm me

Please rate fairly. This swap is not profile based, it is theme based. For this reason it is important that you put together a varied and creative jar. Please do not send something that is entirely kawaii, all sewing notions, or completely scrapbooking goodies. Make a jar that anyone who loves woodland whimsy could enjoy. It is also important that you rate people on fufilling the swap requirements, not whether or not you like all the individual items.

SWAP REQUIREMENTS

  • The jar must be no smaller than 375 ml
  • The jar has to be clean, if you have recycled a jar this includes getting rid of the sticky residue where the lable was glued on, or decoractively covering it.
  • The lid of the jar must be decorated
  • The jar must be full
  • The jar must contain a variety of whimsies
  • The whimsies must be woodland themed

I will gladly angel, but I hope no one gives me a reason to!

I have a 16 oz. plastic frosting can with a snap-on lid. Will that work?

YOu saying that you'll angel makes me more confident to join this swap. I've put a lot of time and effort into a whimsy jar before, waited so excitedly for mine to arrie and then...flake! I'll keep my fingers crossed you won't have a need to, though, too! Thanks! I'm excited about both your woodland swaps!

AwtemNymf 11/22/2008 #

is there a jar size requirement?? I know there are several jar sizes and not just in baby jar foods, so I thought I'd ask! Thanx

sorry I've been so slow in responding to comments.

@AwtemNymf -- the jar should be no smaller than 375 ml, that's about the size of the average peanut butter or jam jar

@kath85 a jar is best as it's lovely to peer in at al the assorted whimsies, however if when partners are assigned, you ask your partner & they are ok with an opaque container, please go ahead.

Thanks for the resonse. I'll see if I can find something more suitable. :)

I'd love to join this swap but just can't afford the international postage right now. If you host a US swap I will definitely join! Great whimsy jar theme!
