Description:

If you LOVED our Ultimate SPOOKY Swap then you'll love this one too!

If all year long, you look forward to the tree, trimmings, eggnog, hot chocolate, reindeer, & fat men, then this is probably your time of year! CHRISTMAS! This is the swap for you!

Each member of the swap will need to create an ULTIMATE Goodie Box for their partner! The price guideline on this swap will be a $20 minimum (before shipping)

I will not be accepting members with 0 or bad ratings... I am only setting the swap in this setting because it has a higher risk factor for those of us who are great swappers!

Try to fill a box with lots of memory making holiday cheer! Make it fun, unique & from the heart. Consider choosing some items your partner can use if they are crafty... holiday fabrics, craft kits, beads, stamps, stickers, papers, even your own handmade items or art! Of course consider including home decor items, kitchen towels, jars, plates, kitchen items, etc.

Please try to keep it warm & heartfelt... I want everyone to get the fuzzies from their box! You should dig deep within yourself & what would make you feel this way... then send it to your partner.

Think about making your package even greater by including items in good condition which you've previously used - this means including a viewed movie in the swap that's still in great condition, or the stamp you used for last years cards and don't plan on using again, maybe even that candle holder you cleaned up but decided you don't know where to put anymore. Your partner might appreciate & love that old decoration you've kept in great condition but stays in the box year after year. Include it in with your store bought & handmade items!

Mix it up! Make the ULTIMATE HOLLY JOLLY BOX!

Also try to decorate the outside of the box with art, stickers, or wrap to make it an even more exciting package to open! Maybe your partner will include it under their tree to open on Christmas day!

I trust everyone to use their best judgement on how much they spend versus what they make, give away, etc. Send someone only a package you would love to get yourself! I expect everyone to go above & beyond on this swap... we ultimate swappers earn our hearts! :)

Please let me know if you have any questions about the swap!

USA ONLY

Use this forum below to give your partner ideas & to communicate all your loves of the holiday season! Check back often to see what everyone is saying. Even after the swap is complete!

I am so in. Had a blast with the Spooky Swap too.

purekitte 11/ 8/2008 #

I'm so glad Tigra & Uwgrad253!!! Thanks for joining in!!! :)

I think this one is going to be really great too! I gave a little more time on the ship by date so that way there's no reason why everyone shouldn't receive theirs before Christmas eve :)

Don't forget to tell everyone what you love the most about the holidays & give us some ideas!!

purekitte 11/ 8/2008 #

So here's mine!

There is so much I love about this holiday, the lights, the scents, colors...

I love red & white combinations, the smells of fresh pine & warm vanilla cookies, reindeer, holiday barn stars, rustic country decor, wreaths, cranberry garlands, long burning candles, snowflakes, journals, christmas cards, warm blankets & socks, truffles, cocoa, cinnamon sticks & apple cider, advents, pine cones, anything handmade, holiday films - the grinch & rudolf are my favorite characters. :)

I don't like anything too metallic or bright (like those new lime & teal colors.. ick!), I'm not a fan of cartoony santas too much, & If anyone sends any treats... please know I hate black licorice!

So there's mine, anyone else?! :)

dukiegal 11/ 8/2008 #

I love pre-holiday stuff honestly. I just may put my little tree up today or next weekend. I love listening to christmas music in november and looking at all the stuff in the stores :)

I love the scents of the season. I love the smell of pine, gingerbread, baking goodies in the stove, chocolate.

I love How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I love the new and the original versions. I also love the Charlie Brown Christmas.

I always love new ornaments. I have a little 4 inch pre-lit tree that I put on my desk in my bedroom and I always love to decorate that with new ornaments. The ornaments need to be little and not so heavy, but it is so much fun to get new ornaments for it.

I love listening to Christmas music. This is definately the part of Christmas that I miss the most after it is over.

I especially love anything Christmas/winter related for scrapbooking, making ATCs. This is the time of the year when I love the concept of winter. I love winter stickers, ribbons, glittery snowflakes, snowman, etc, etc.

I love the life saver gift packs with the 4 packs of fruit life savers in that neat little book like package. As for other food, not too much into chocolate but a little bit of anything is okay. :)

clkea 11/ 8/2008 #

I love anything Christmas, especially traditional. I'm not fond of bright, neon things, though. No licorice, please. Anything else would be wonderful! What fun this will be!

pmills95 11/ 8/2008 #

I love Christmas! I really love the old world santas and nutcrackers. I prefer burgundy over red. I love green.

Scents I prefer: Vanilla, Cinnamon, gingerbread, and those cookie smelling candles are great!! I really don't like pine scent.

I love to decorate with ribbons and lights. I have several trees throughout my house. I have one that is decorated in purple, one in pink/cream, the others are more the traditional colors. I prefer gold trim over silver.

Wow, I could go on and on. I love, love, love Christmas. I love glittery things and snowflakes.

Wanda 11/ 8/2008 #

I really can't think of much that I don't like about Christmas. I love vintage things as well as funky things....cute, offbeat, weird...I love it all. I especially love the religious aspects of the season - Advent, the Nativity, La Posada, etc. Miniature things that could be used by my dolls in their rooms would be nice too. I have Barbie sized and a Petit Blythe doll, and the American Girl sized dolls....and several sizes of vintage vinyl dolls which I collect. Sewn Christmas clothes for any of these would be fantastic! ( I hope to get them all together for a photo for my profile soon.)

Christmasy woodland animals would be nice. I also especially like ribbons...and elves. If you paint or do mixed media canvases, I would love to get one. Car scents (Yankee Candle Co. hangers?) are wonderful.

I really have no use for house shoes or gloves however. Ha! The two 'Christmas' (or winter) type items I can put aside. ;) I'm in South Texas, and while it does get cold in the winter, it is rarely THAT cold, and it is brief. We still have hot days in the winter, too. But hats are fun, and I would wear one, if that is what someone sent. Oh! - and I don't like things that spell Christmas as 'Xmas'.

I may come back with more ideas later, but really with this theme you can't go wrong as far as I am concerned. And although I don't have children in my home, I do have grandchildren (ages 6-13) close who visit often, and I am director of children's religious education (Pre-K through High School) in our Catholic parish, so I have plenty of use for children's things too.

purekitte 11/ 8/2008 #

pmills95 - you just made me think!!! I know my profile says I prefer darker tones of red... but I wrote "red & white" not thinking to specify!!! :)

hehe :P silly!

Thanks everyone for posting your cheer here! it's really got me excited and thinking holidays!!!

StarliteStarbright 11/ 8/2008 #

I love absolutely everything about Christmas! Especially the togetherness, and getting to spend time with family. I like looking at Christmas lights and those huge blow up snowmen, santa, reindeer, penguins. This year, I think my Christmas tree will be a flocked(white) douglas fir with pink (mostly) decorations..I've already found the perfect one in a target ad lol oooh and I love going to walmart or target to look at the cute miniature ceramic houses all decked out for Christmas complete with little children, lights, and snow, snow, snow!..

Hot chocolate and candy canes are good for the soul!

Merry Chritmas everyone :o)

dukiegal 11/ 9/2008 #

I just wanted to add that I just adore teddy bears and hot chocolate :) not sure if I put that or not but I always think of other stuff to add after I already posted. :) karen

SASNJMS 11/ 9/2008 #

Christmas is my most special time of the year. The closeness of family, singing Christmas carols, listening to Christmas music while sipping on hot chocolate, Christmas lights, the scent of candles, shopping for the perfect gift for family and friends, baking Christmas cookies with my grand-children, decorating the house, setting up the Nativity, watching the little ones placing the ornaments on the tree. The smiles on their faces is what lights up my heart. The wonderful smell of food cooking in the kitchen, Going to church as a family. Snow, snowmen, santas everywhere, listening to the church bells ringing. Christmas trees, wreaths. finding the perfect ornament each year to add to my collection of angels, snowmen, candycanes, nutcrackers, penguins, snowflakes and many more. Christmas is magic!

JPINEDA 11/10/2008 #

i have actually just moved this year and i am cutting down on my christmas decorations but i love bells, christmas cookies or any type of food. i have one 7 year old boy who i will struggle with christmas presents this year so that way would help tons. love candles and winter apparel, hats and scarfs. love all colors from red, green, pink to neon. any scrapbook items or matchboxs christmas related would be awesome. My favorite part of the holidays are the cold mornings, breath in the air, falling leaves of every color and that general winter feeling. i already have some wonderful items picked out and working on some handmade ones now. can't wait to start filling up my box!

PrairieMouse 11/10/2008 #

I love Christmouse decorations. Mice with stocking caps, mice ornaments, mice stuffed toys, animated mice. *No mickey mouse please, I like all other mice. Love rubber stamps, stickers, pinecones, acorns, Cinnamon scents, Vanilla scents, I love earth tone colors and rustic things. I love Christian themed ornaments. Angels, stars, oh and horses too. We also decorate our Christmas tree for New years with blues and whites, babies, grandfather clocks, father time, ribbons and stars. I hope that gives plenty of ideas. I can't wait for this swap, it will be so much fun.

Leeame 11/10/2008 #

I would love to be surprised. My profile says most everything about me that can be said. The only thing I can add is sizes. If my partner would like those all you have to do is ask. If I can think of anything more concrete, I'll post again. Enjoy

meggert 11/11/2008 #

I have enough Christmas decorations. It is cold here and usually snowing for Christmas. i love to stay inside and do crafts. I would really like some pretty papers and ATC embelishments. I love the smell of coffee and I love the color pink. I love socks. Really anything for a nice comfortable afternoon crafting.

Tigra 11/12/2008 #

I am an ultimate Christmas lover--so I think this swap is AWESOME!!!

I love the red & white Christmas color combination (some red & green too).

I am a candle freak, and LOVE the holiday scents (peppermint, sugar cookies, gingerbread, pine tree...and my year-round favorite is apple).

I love listening to Christmas music.

I love Rudolph, Frosty, The Grinch, Charlie Brown Christmas, It's A Wonderful Life...

I love snowmen, Santa, reindeer, ...I love the "country" style of Christmas.

I'm not a real crafty person, unfortunately.

I love to read, and my favorite books are The Christmas Box series by Richard Paul Evans. He actually has a new Christmas story out, titled "Grace" that I would love to have.

Warm fuzzy socks, coffee mugs, coffee, hot chocolate [no tea please], candies or yummy treats (even homemade!)...

I have three children, 1 boy age 3.5yrs, and 2 girls, ages 2yrs and 9 months.

I just can't wait to open my Christmas box...MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!!!

ChelleAngel 11/24/2008 #

Hi All,

I have three children. There is info about them in my profile. I have a detailed list of my likes and wants in my profile and also of a few of my dislikes as well. I'm excited to get swapping and have already started buying some stuff for this swap. I think I will also make a thing or two for it as well. If my partner has any specific likes or dislikes I will try and incorporate that into my box as well. We love the holidays around here and these swaps are making me feel more and more into the holiday. I will do my best to please you in the partner that I get! I hope I get a partner that does the same! I do like bath and body works.... my favorite scent is japanese cherry blossom which is something not mentioned in my profile yet. I may go add that. Anything that you put your time into, I will appreciate though. Merry Christmas!!!

uwgrad253 11/25/2008 #

Wow something about this season that really gets a person busy... I guess it is time for me to give my two cents of this season. Because I am part Jewish and Christian, I get to enjoy many different points to this time of year... Great family events (no fighting). :) But really I love everything, especially how everyone is so sweet during these times. I dont decorate too much, just the usual tree and menorah because kids destroy things. Season for giving, I love to give and see the expression on their faces when they open their gifts. I always buy according to the person and what they like for this reason I am waiting until we are assigned partners before I plan. If someone is shopping for me: well I love to include my kids. So please include them with my package. They love to open gifts and receive mail (letters) maybe a letter from Santa would be great. Three girls (7, 6, & 3) and my little baby boy (6 months). I really want some candles and stuff to pamper myself with. Other then that I trust everyone's judgement to the fullest. Not allergic and willing to try everything at least once. Happy Holidays...

grandmaroro 11/28/2008 #

purekitte - I missed the Halloween swap but am so glad it was a success. This is just the best swap ever!!!!! After reading all the posts, my mind is swirling with ideas and comments. So --- I will go sign-up, and after I have had a chance to calm down and compose my thoughts, I will be back to post my list. Thanks for hosting such a delightful swap. You deserve a diamond rather than a gold star.

Leeame 11/30/2008 #

Almost time to start swapping. I thought I should add more. I have allergies but can handle the cinnamon & natural spice scents. I adore vintage glass ornaments & don't mind thrift store treasures. I love texture & colors, homemade crafts, stockings, tree skirts, & such. I am a sewing junky & love mini metal containers that remind me of lunch pails to keep my hand sewing items with me. I also treasure old coffee & tea cups. My partner can pm me if he/she needs to. I'm already sewing for my partner! Can't wait.

dukiegal 12/ 2/2008 #

In addition to what I posted before, I would really want winter-y items so that i can keep them out longer. Its sorta depressing when you get christmas decorations and goodies and not having time to enjoy them

dukiegal 12/ 2/2008 #

wow, i am annoying i think......i have a new found love...hedgehogs. they are adorable...not sure if there are christmas or winter hedgehogs but just in case :)

earthtobella 12/ 3/2008 #

I love festive scents and candles like cinnamon and spiced apple, not a big fan of pine or gingerbread though. I love tea and collect tea-for-one teapots and tea towels. I love handmade items. I'm crafty, so I definitely have a use for ribbons, buttons, embellishments, etc. I'd love some interesting Christmas decorations - I collect gnome, cupcake, and owl ornaments. I'm not into anything too cutsey or cartoony, but I do like vintage. Hope that helps!

purekitte 12/ 3/2008 #

grandmaroro - you made me blush!! hehe

i'm so amazed at how many ultimate holly jolly swappers we have!! you should all be assigned now... i know you're excited! rings some sleigh bells have fun putting those partners boxes together & don't forget to read their comments here!

Hi. I like the blue & white color theme for Christmas. I'd love to make a small blue and white art quilt. I love tea-related things (like stickers, notecards, etc).

Please, no candles.

grandmaroro 12/ 4/2008 #

Life got complicated. Please refer to my profile for helpful hints on likes and dislikes. Thanks so very much. Joan
