Steampunk - Alter an Item

To me, the steampunk look is very much about DIY. Sure, it's great if you can buy a waistcoat with gears already sewn onto it, or get a bustle skirt from an online seller, but what I really love are the brass-painted Nerf Maverick guns, the goggles made from Gatorade lids and scraps of leather, and the gears-and-cogs jewelry cobbled together out of bits and pieces.

Your mission for this swap, should you chose to accept it, is to take something and modify it to make it steampunk. Maybe you'll get a belt from Goodwill and turn it into a utility belt with lots of straps pockets and hooks to hang things from. You could embroider gears onto a purse, or paint swim goggles, replacing the plastic with leather, to make airship pirate headgear. It's up to you! (And it doesn't have to be something you wear, either. If you want to steam out a journal, coffee mug, or anything else, go for it!)

Please do check your partner's profile, though, to see what kind of things they're interested in and would use/like. And make sure you send something you'd be pleased to recieve yourself. Make the construction sturdy and package your item securely.

-Send to 1 (ONE) partner

-Send 1 (ONE) modified item

-No minimum/maximum monetary value, but please send a quality item. There's a difference between inexpensive and cheap.

Recipients: Steampunk is different things to different people, so if you receive something and it doesn't quite fit your image of what steampunk should be, that's okay! Rate a 5 if you got 1 modified item on time. Add a heart for an extra-special item or more than one item.
