Description:

I ran this swap a couple months ago. It was such fun, and I've heard from some swappers who would like a USA version this time, so here goes!

Open to newbies, with a complete and well thought out profile. A good rule of thumb is, When I open your profile page, I should have to scroll down to read it.

The dates overlap on all three sets, so you can can join us for the whole set, with time to put them together.

I hope to see you there!

For this swap, we are going to get through the alphabet a little quicker...Instead of one letter per page, we are going to shrink it, to one letter per pocket!

DETAILS:

Make sure the letter shows up easily on the front of the pocket.

You will have ONE partner, to send the pocket letter to.

Take a 9-pocket sleeve page, and starting at the top left, reading across, left to right...Fill the first pocket with things that a paper-crafter might like, like stickers, origami papers, decorated papers, envies, etc. Even a color that starts with that letter.

IMPORTANT: When we get to the letter of your first name, or swapping name, please write a nice little note about yourself, to insert in to that pocket.

There are NINE pockets, each representing a letter.

This is ROUND 2 - so we will come up with ideas that start with the second group of letters, J through R.

Here's some examples:

J - jets, jellyfish, junkyards, jams, January, June, July, jump rope, journal, etc.

K -kites, kids, keeps (needle holders), Kansas, keys, Kumihimo, key tags, etc.

L - lips, love, lavender, locks, labels, leaves, letters, etc.

M - music, mandalas, Mylar, matchboxes, mirrors, money😉, markers, etc.

N - notepads, needle arts, night sky, etc.

O - owls, anything orange, October, olives, orangutans, etc.

P - penpals, pictures, anything purple, paper clips, photo corners, etc.

Q - Quilting, quilling, etc.

R - recipes, anything red, rainy pics,

I signed up for the A - I, do I sign up for all 3 at the same time?

gramsbuttonbox 04/ 3/2016 #

You can, I would love to have you be a part of it, and it also gives you the chance to make the entire alphabet, without risking forgetting to sign up, even if you've completed the other sets.

Hope that makes sense,

lauriew 04/ 9/2016 #

Yes, I understand. I wasn't sure if after we completed the first set we would swap in another months for the next set. I am excited to get started on these Pls. I will have to wait to sign up until the dates get closer. Since I am a newbie I can can join 5 swaps at once.

I understand, and I look forward to having your join us

will we get the same partner for each of these 3 swaps or will they be different. If all different how should we include our name in the ones which do not have our initial in that part of the alphabet. although looking at the way the parts are divided, I'm good for each part with my first and last name and swap bot name. Just wondering if someone else isn't so lucky

gramsbuttonbox 04/15/2016 #

Thanks for the question...if the same people sign up for all three parts, then yes, it is POSSIBLES that you could be assigned the same partner.

In the past in this swap, I would get maybe parts 1 and 3 with the same person, or 2 and 3...I don't know of anyone who had the same person for all three...it really is just "the luck of the draw."

gramsbuttonbox 04/19/2016 #

Also, if we sign up for all 3parts, then we will come to o the letter of our name...it is possible that someone who maybe missed one of these from a previous seriously, might sign up for only the part they missed. Looking at the numbers, these three have some swappers who are not signed up for all three parts

Hope that helps.

I just want to clarify a few things here. I got a letter different form then what I sent in the first part. Working on this pl now. I got one from my partner for this j-r. She decorated the front with an item for the letter and its cute. There are goodies included but don't match letter. I think people are confused. Here is a list if I'm correct. Step 1. Cut a card stock and write/stamp exc the letter on it. Step 2. Put 3 items in the pocket that match the letter Step 3. Decorate front or back if you choose senders choice.

gramsbuttonbox 06/17/2016 #

Thank you for writing, and I'm sorry for the confusion.

Since this swap is open to newbies, I didn't want to set too many "rules"

If you choose to give your partner a lower rating, I would hope that you contact the personfirst, to hopefully clarify what your expectations are.

Your idea is great, for a specific number of items to include, and yes, for future versions of this swap, I could do that.

I cannot now attach some rules like that to a swap that is already running..

I hope you understand.

I have been in contact with my partner and I had a little issue with getting it out on time. I just want to say how great it is to have a flexible person. She was so understanding. Darn 6 year old who got into mommies stuff. Love you all.
