Description:

For this swap, you will have 3 partners. You buy 1 yard of 100% cotton fabric (or use one from your stash) and cut it into 4 fat quarters, one each for 3 partners and one for you to keep. The color theme for this month is Red. The fabric can have more than just the color red in it, as long as it is mostly red. (Please, no solid-color fabrics. Tone-on-tones, marbleds, prints, batiks, conversation fabrics, etc., are all welcome. Just no plain solid color fabrics because anybody can buy those anywhere.)

I would encourage everyone to also include a short note/letter to their partner as well but it is not required, it would just be nice for us to start to get to know each other. :-)

As always, it's fun to send little extras like sewing supplies or notions or notecards or something relating to your partner's profile, etc., but it is not mandatory.

You must be a member in good standing of the Fabric Art Divas group and must have a rating of 4.8 or higher and no unexplained 1's AT ALL and no 3's in the past 3 months. You must also have completed at least 5 "real mail" swaps (email swaps and postcards don't count), so, sorry - No Newbies. (Newbies can PM me for a private swap, though.) Also, you must have a decently filled profile and I WILL be checking profiles. This is International.

After everyone signs up, I will also be drawing some names to receive a special prize just from me. (Could be just one name, could be lots! You'll never know until after you sign up!)

This will be monthly swap for 12 months and will have a different color theme each month: Red, Christmas/Winter, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown, Black, White, Sender’s Choice. (The color themes are shown in the order we will swap them)

Does "completed at least 5 real mail" swaps mean I've been rated on them? Or I've just completed them? I've got 3 I've been rated on and 2 more completed and in the mail, should arrive any day now. Can I join? crosses fingers

By 5 real mail swaps I do mean ones that you've been rated on. But I'm sure that by the time partners are assigned that you'll have received the ratings you need, so sign on up! :-)

Cool, I'm there! Got my last 2 ratings over the weekend! Yay I'm not "officially" a newbie anymore!!

Err! I am in the UK and we are mostly metric here. Is it Ok to buy a metre and cut that into four quarters?

Krazyquilts 09/17/2008 #

@Melusine , well, over here in the US, a fat quarter is approx. 18" x 22." So as long as the piece of fabric you send is at least that big, it's fine. (Please don't send something smaller, though.)

I did a quick conversion search, and according to Google, 18" x 22" is 45.72 cm x 55.88 cm. I hope that helps, too. :-)

And do the three FQ have to come from one piece of fabric? I have a lot of FQ on my stash, but not three in one pattern.....I would avoid going to the fabric store if I could......you know....I might end up with spending the money I need for the Swap-Postage... ;o)

Krazyquilts 09/22/2008 #

@Mello No, the FQs don't necessarily need to be from the same piece of fabric.
