Description:

. . . . . . . . . .

This year I made a disturbing discovery: I don't have the gumption to complete a full page in an adult coloring book. Fortunately I can hang in there long enough to color a small area for use in the creation of a fun ATC. Even if you have enough perseverance to sew a quilt or read War and Peace cover to cover, you may enjoy taking just a few moments to complete a simple project. If so, grab your coloring book and a some coloring implements and join me!

  • Make one standard-size ATC (2.5" X 3.5" or 64mm X 89mm) for one partner using, as the background, an image from a coloring book or coloring postcard designed for adults.

  • Color the printed design using any medium or combination of media. Options include, but are not limited to, crayons, colored pencils, paint, markers and pastels.

  • Cut the colored design to size and adhere it to a sturdy backing. I like to use precut Bristol board ATC blanks or heavy cardstock.

  • Add embellishments of your choosing to make the piece unique. This is where your personal aesthetic and creativity can really shine!

  • Think of a title for your completed piece. Write the title, your username, the swap title and the date on the back of the ATC.

  • Enclose your art in a plastic sleeve or paper envelope to protect it on it's journey to its new home.

NOTE: Your ATC is to be made using a coloring book for adults as opposed to an adult-themed coloring book. Please send something appropriate for any audience.

If you don't have access to a coloring book but would like to participate, please let me know. I'd be glad to send a page to you as soon as partners are assigned.

I am not asking for myself (I cannot colour inside the lines that well lol) but would it be possible to use an online adult colouring page for this swap, if it were printed on good quality paper?

I was hoping people would enjoy using coloring books or postcards they own because I thought it would be fun to elevate one of the pages to a piece of art. But I suppose a copy from the internet would work for anyone who doesn't have access to a coloring book.

Also, the swap time is far enough out that I would be happy to send a page to anyone who doesn't have a coloring book...I bought several and have pages to spare!

Thanks, @gooddog56 :-)

Neat idea! My daughter has a colouring book - I'll try to remember to get a page from her :) If not, I printed off a few nice pages from the Internet for her, so that's also a good idea.
