International swap, Open to newbies, if you have a well-thought out and filled in profile. (A good rule of thumb is: when I open your profile page, I should have to scroll down to read it.)

What IS a "Swap Card"?

Whenever you send out a swap, it's really nice to include a little card, identifying yourself, the name of the swap, and when it was sent.

I have received swaps, and had NO idea who had sent it!

These little "notes" - (recycled cards, computer-generated, etc., etc., Are FUN to make, and they can be made of almost ANY materials- from leftover kids' construction papers, to recycled greeting cards! The sky's the limit!

And since they are so much FUN to make, and use up some materials that might not work for other projects (color, size, etc) You can just let your imagination go with these!

SWAP DETAILS: you will have TWO partners (that means you will get two ratings)

and will make for EACH of them, FIVE swap cards.

Yes, that's 10 total! (I was a math teacher, so I know! Heehee)

These can be all different, or all the same.

Be sure to print onto the card, space for the following: Swap Name, My ID, and Date Mailed.

You can print out labels, to attach to the cards, or just write it out, making sure that your partner will have space then, to fill it in, and send with their future swaps.

ALSO, make two more swap cards, filled out for yourself, to send with each swap. Be sure that you include (for yourself): your swapping ID, the name of the swap, your "real" name (just your first name, if you want), and the date it was mailed.

Have some creative FUN with these, and make them adorable and cute! (Well, the adorable part might be optional, but please make them CUTE! 😀

This swap is open to newbies, since they are just starting out, and should know what these little gems are, as well as inspire their swap partners, to include this information about themselves.

I have seen swap cards that look professionally made where do u get these

user6937 11/ 8/2015 #

You can buy business card templates from office supply stores and make your own. Or get them made at printing places.

gramsbuttonbox 11/ 8/2015 #

I suppose you can have them professionally made like a business card...but I think of swap cards as recycling some maybe otherwise un-usable paper items...you can certainly do what you would like...

@gramsbuttonbox I love the greeting card idea guess I will be saving Christmas cards this year lol

gramsbuttonbox 11/11/2015 #

Sounds like FUN!

@gramsbuttonbox I just printed mine out, they are quite big!!! Is it okay if I fold them to send?

gramsbuttonbox 11/13/2015 #

Yes, you can fold them... As long as there is room for your partner to write their info, when they send them with future swaps.

Thanks :)

Can someone it's a link to some examples.

Pupkitmomof4 11/20/2015 #

That should have read "can someone POST a link"

gramsbuttonbox 11/21/2015 #

I tried to, but it wouldn't open. The picture at the top of the swap, shows several possibilities, and please know ....there is NO wrong way to make these! Please have some fun with them!

Pupkitmomof4 11/21/2015 #

Thank you, gramsbuttonbox! I can't wait to try my hand at this!

Can the be simple? Like little gift tags or left over scrapbook paper? Or do they all need to be very decorated? (Not like just a plain piece of white paper, but without many embellishments, if that makes sense?)

gramsbuttonbox 12/ 8/2015 #

They can be plain, use the three items on them, room for your partners to send with their future swaps...

Or they can be decorated...I've seen some made of the Manila tags, and using old-fashioned photo corners, post a little piece of paper...

I hope nobody is stressing over these, I want you to have some FUN, for your imagination, creativity, and ideas!

Please have fun with them!

May also be postcards?

gramsbuttonbox 12/14/2015 #

Postcards would be too big...these should be something like 3 X 3 inches, or in that range. Remember, the only info that needs to be on them, is "Swap Name, My ID, and Date Mailed"

If you are desperate to add more to them, punch a hole in a corner, and string a ribbon through...
