Obviously you know what kind of dog I have. His name is Maynard G. Krebs. Any kind of toy is appreciated, as long as it is not too small. He loves ANY kind of treats...thank you in advance!

I have 2 shelties (Sadie and Ollie), but this swap is for Ollie. He has a lot of adventures and has much to write about. Ollie will eat anything so he'll love whatever treats you send. He also likes furry toys that make some kind of noise. He's pretty small (25 lbs.) and fairly gentle with his toys, so something small should suit him just fine. Thanks!

My border collie is going to be writing, although I have another border collie too and a jack russell terrier. Yay for bordercollielover having a collie too!!!!

She'll eat anything and play with anything, but for toys she likes anything bright and noisy mostly. LOL!

My dog Bootsy will be writing the letter for this swap. She's a medium sized hound mix (35 pounds) who can destroy the sturdiest toy in about 10 minutes. Her favorite toys are stuffed toys with squeakers. She loves to take the stuffing out and toss it all over the floor and then plan with the fabric. She does not like balls. She loves any kind of treat. If it's food or looks like food, then it's for her.

WHAT IS EVERYONE'S OPINION ON THIS : WOULD YOU LIKE TO KEEP THE PENPAL THING GOING OR ARE WE KEEPING IT AS A ONE OFF?

I'M HAPPY TO KEEP WRITING, OR RATHER, MEGGIE IS.

GET BACK TO ME! PLEEEEEEASE!

I have 2 beagles and the last pet penpal I did was for Clyde so this time it would be Jake's turn! He is a 40 lb overweight beagle/basset mix. He is the laziest dog you will ever find. He loves fibers - paper, fabric, and anything soft with a squeeker. He does his best to get the squeeker out and plays with the fluff. He is not too big on treats, but would probably like milkbones the best. He is not much of a chewer.

I have 2 great dogs, but I think I'll do this one for Chai since the mail date is just before her b-day. Chai is a Chow/German Shepard mix, and is medium sized. She'll eat anything except her worming meds (I think she knows what they are) so any treats are good for her. As for a toy it should be tough because bosth her and her sister like to tear up their toys esspecially if there is a squeeker inside.

Also I've noticed that several of us have more than one dog so if my partner has 2 dogs I'd be willing to expand this swap and have both my dogs swap with yours. Just let me know. and just incase the answer is yes my other dog is Honey and she is a yellow Lab/Pitbull and she will also eat anything.

Thanx this is going to be fun!!

Also in responce to Whowilloveme I'd be willing to keep it going, I think it is a great idea!

I have two Shih Tzus. Pebbles, who just turned 10, will be writing for this swap. Any toy that is safe and chewy would be great, though they tend to get really crazy over balls and squeaky toys and usually end up fighting.

She's allergic to all meat except lamb. So fish, lamb or vegetable treats (without any other meat ingredients or flavourings added) would be great. If it's too difficult to find, I'd be alright without the treats.

I'd love keep writing as well. Maybe with each letter we could choose one of our other dogs to write as (for those with more dogs), so each one will have a turn?

whowillloveme 09/ 6/2008 #

yay - id love it to be keeping in touch! using different dogs sounds like a great idea!! or you could have them each write a different section. treats etc only required first time round though, as it'll be really dear otherwise. lol! im going to assign partners now methinks. sorry for any inconveniences. deadline staying the same though. mj x x x x

ClaireAnn88 : you're receiving from me hugs so I will send you a letter from Meggie and then I'll rotate my three dogs around each time, or something.

What's your other dog's name? Mine are Meggie and Tavvy (border collies) and Lucy (jack russell terrier).

My Jackie can destroy ANY toy in one minute flat! Rrally! We got her a toy made from a real fire hose and she destroyed it - it was incredible to watch - but i think the squeekies bring out some instinct that can't be stopped! Anyway, she loves them - so we let her have one on occasion and stop her before she demolishes them! She enjoys narrating her adventures about being at the beach or on the kayak - she leads a very active life!

Yay for doggy pet pals!!!!

i have 4 VERY energetic and beautiful dogs. life's tops when you breed dalmatians! (although one of my babies is an old cocker-spaniel, named chad)

I'll probably write from my eldest girl (Dakota) cos she's the only one who's literate.

for whoever gets me, chicken based treats are the best, as too much red meat/protein can lead to uric stones in dallies, especially the boys (who the treats would be shared with!)

Dakota is OBSESSED with squeeky toys (although they dont stay squeeky for long.......but anything along those lines would be great.
