Hello Everyone! =)

It seems that washi tapes are getting all the love lately, and that just isn't fair! =( what about all those amazing kawaii deco tapes?!

If you are like me, you probably have a ton of Kawaii Deco Tape laying around, huh? Ho many times have you used a roll up and thought.. "I wish I would have placed a swipe of that to keep it for myself!" Well if so, this swap is for you! =)

I thought it might be fun to make some Kawaii Deco Tape Sample Bags to pass around! This is a nice way to show off and share all those amazing deco tapes you have, as well as memos, letter sets, sticker flakes, etc! <3

What is a bag you ask? Its usually and envelope decorated and filled with items with a sign in sheet that you pass around.. participants take out some items and add some items.

Hopefully we can get this going, and have a regular swap, so we can swap our kawaii deco tape sample bags and get them back home! =)

About This Swap:

  • In this swap you will have 1 partner to send too.

  • You will create 2 Brand New Kawaii Deco Tape Sample Bags. They can be for yourself or another.

  • You will make your bag with something protective, could be with card stock (something sturdy would be nice) or a light card board, etc. Decorate the outside with all things kawaii! Use your stickers, your tapes, your memos, go kawaii crazy!

  • You will include at least 6 kawaii deco tape samples that are at least 12 inches long each into the bag. Feel free to add more, as its your bag(s). The reason for the 12 inches long is so we can see at least the majority of the print on the tape. =) Also it is enough to use to seal a few things, etc.

  • Please cut up something like playing card to wrap your kawaii deco tape samples on, or an old plastic cover of a memo pad or card board with a clear packing tape around it first, then your samples.

  • Just like this:

  • On the front of the bag you will write the following information: Made By (Your Name, Your Address, Your E-Mail Address, Your Swap Bot User Name, and Date). Made For (Their Address and Swap Bot User Name).

  • On the front you will also add how many kawaii deco tape samples to take and how many to add. Example: take 2 deco tape samples and add 3 . However you can decide =)

  • On the back of the bag you will make a sign in sheet for the participants. Please include at least 4 sign in spaces.

  • Last but not least, please add somewhere on the bag to keep the bag within or group: Kawaii Swapping USA

Types Of Kawaii You Should Use:

  • YES Branded Kawaii, ie: Crux, Lemon Co, Sanrio, Q-Lia, San-x, Kamio, etc.

  • NO Diddl, My Little Pony, Disney, etc.

A Few More Things:

  • PLEASE NOTE these bags are for kawaii deco tape samples only. No washi tapes, no fabric tapes, no ribbon tapes, no glitter tapes.. etc.

  • Have Fun! Get Creative! Make kawaii sticker flake slams that will make the person you made it for smile for days when they receive it!

  • Please please make sure to include your Swap-Bot User Name and Swap-Bot Swap Name.

Rating:

  • Make sure to rate your partner.

  • If your partner followed the guidelines of this swap and it was sent out on time, please rate them a 5. Hearts are completely up to you ♥

Last But Not Least

  • I can angel if necessary, but hopefully, I won't have too. ♥

If you have any questions, please feel free to IM me @iamred

Happy Swapping! =D

  • PS. If you are making a kawaii deco tape bag for me @iamred (<3 thank you) please add on the bag to contact me via SB for my most current address, as i move around a lot. =) this way the slam can make it home.

I'm really dumb here, sorry, but the samples are wound on a card (for example) and then all cut apart? This probably sounds like the stupidest question ever, but I'm really visual and need guidance. =D

Lila84 08/12/2015 #

Where are we putting the 2 inch deco sample?

That's how I interpreted it pattie! I'm really visual too. Lol.

starrycat 08/14/2015 #

I think and @iamred can correct me if I am wrong, but yes, Pattie- you need to have the samples individual- that way the people swapping the bags can pick the ones they want. So if you covered a card with packing tape, for example, you can wrap your samples around it and then cut it apart.

And Jill, I think what @iamred means is to make sure your samples are at least 2 inches in length so people can see the design; for example, an atc blank or a playing card is typically 2.5 x 3.5 so if you wrap your samples on a playing card before cutting them apart, the samples will be long enough so the overall design can be seen.

This is how I interpreted her description- so I could be wrong too... lol.

starrycat 08/14/2015 #

Re-reading the description, she also could mean that we need to tuck in a separate memo or something with 2 inch "samples" of the samples we added too, so that people can see the design since some decotape "bleeds" through their layers when you wrap them up to make samples.

Lila84 08/15/2015 #

@starrycat hehe The first one made sense! :) thanks and perhaps that's what we do. Now the second one... I dunno. :p but I didn't know some deco tape can "bleed" through when making samples! I will message her or comment via Facebook for clarification :) thanks for your help!

Heirloom 08/15/2015 #

Same questions here. And what are the "slam" references?

iamred 08/15/2015 #

@starrycat is correct. the samples need to be individual so they are easy the swap. if they are all on one card the person would have to take out a card and add a card, that isnt what we are trying to do. the idea is to wrap your deco tapes around a playing card, or a card board that is first wrapped in packing tape, or a piece of plastic, and then cut them so your tape samples are a individual so the person can take out the ones they want and add the ones they want.

@Lila84 you are wrapping the 12 inches deco tapes around a playing card or piece of plastic or a cardboard wrapped in packing tape.

@Heirloom sorry about the slam reference.. there are no slams in this swap. The same time I made this swap I made a deco tape slam swap. =)

also, there is no need for a separate memo with samples..the 2 inches you referring too is suppose to be 12 inches. my 1 didnt type i guess.. so there is no confusion.. you are adding at least 6 kawaii deco tape samples that are at least 12 inches long each into the bag so we can see the majority of the print on the tape. =)

i have fixed the 2 inches to 12 inches.

iamred 08/15/2015 #

i am going to make a sample right now and take a picture so you can all see what i mean.. incase =D

iamred 08/15/2015 #

here you go. =)

ive also added it in the description =)

Lila84 08/15/2015 #

Thanks!! :) @iamred

iamred 08/15/2015 #

MookyLee 08/24/2015 #
