Description:

Does anyone else out there like to put little “love notes” in their child’s lunchbox? My nephew LOVES it when he opens his lunch and finds a little note from me- he usually writes me a little something back! This swap is for a set of kids’ jokes, positive thoughts, and other cute notes for children’s lunchboxes!

What we are going to do is make a set of 24 notes (that should be enough for one month of school) and we are going to send them out to 2 partners (so 48 notes total). If you make a set for yourself also, you will end up with enough notes for over 3 months of school! Do not make the notes super tiny, we want our children to easily see the notes. They should also be colorful- no plain white paper with only black ink!! The notes should be at least 2” x 3” each. You may use plain printer paper, cardstock, or scrapbook paper, but please decorate your notes by either drawing on them or using cute clipart, stickers, etc. A good way to cut down on the bulk of a bunch of little notes is to put the sentiments on your paper, but don’t cut them out, just make sure there are lines for your partner to cut them out when they receive them. The notes can be handwritten or printed from the computer. They can be cut into separate notes, but it isn’t required. If you need ideas, you can search google for some inspiration. You might even find free printables you can use!

Make the notes gender neutral, please. We don’t want to have unusable notes because they are written for the wrong gender! Do not use specific titles such as “Mommy loves you.” We don’t know the personal situations of all of our partners and their families. Please, no religious passages, either. We all have different religious backgrounds and beliefs and we should all respect that. To review- you are sending 24 notes each to 2 partners (plus a set for yourself, if you wish). The notes are to be a minimum of 2”x3”. They also need to be decorated in a fun way (coloring, painting, patterned paper, clip art, stickers, etc.) so that each child is excited to see their note for the day! Think about what your child would want! And try to remain neutral!

This swap is US only, however, if there is interest in an international version, let me know and I will start one up! Even though this is most likely flat mail, I’m rating it a Type 3 because I want everyone to put some thought and effort into these notes! Newbies are welcome to join. Minimum rating is 4.95, no recent 1s or 3s; I will check profiles before assigning partners. I reserve the right to ban, if necessary. If you have a lower rating or some extenuating circumstance, PM me for a private swap. I will angel, if necessary, but I hope it doesn’t come to that! If you have any questions, let me know!

Mine are tiny brown craft bags, so you could tuck a treat or sticker inside!😊

What a clever idea! :)

Thanks. I wanted them to be special. My kids saw me making them and are hopeful that I made them special ones too😉

What a great idea! Hubby and I are house parents in a group foster home. These are a great idea for our kids. The ones that don't take a lunch, I may sneak into their backpacks (we have a 3, 4, 8,9 10, 14, 14, and 16 year old). Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow, @ChrisAnne what a large household you have!! (Although, now that I'm thinking about it, your house only has one more person than mine... so I guess mine's pretty large too!) And what great work you do, I dream of someday fostering and adopting children!
