Description:

This is an international swap, Newbies are welcome (with a filled-out profile).

(I ran this swap a while ago, and it was so much fun and well received, and I've just gotten a request to run it again. I hope you have a lot of fun with this.)

each person will make FOUR collage pages, and send them to TWO partners - two pages to each partner. since these are flat and easy to mail, iris open to international swappers.

I am also giving plenty of time between getting your swap partner's name, and the mailing deadline, so you have plenty of time to make them.

What you will do:

-*- Take a sheet of card stock, water-color paper or other sturdy paper, 8.5" x 11" (normal printer size)

-*- Go hunting for various ephemera/pictures/colors - I made on with all kinds of pictures of clocks! You'd be surprised how often they show up in pictures in magazines.

I promise, these are addictive, and once you get started, you're won't want to stop! You can also use dictionaries, phone books, even sheet music!

-*- Cut or tear them into pieces, and adhere them to the sturdy backing paper. (I used rubber cement, and it worked wonderfully, and any "mistakes"can easily be rubbed off.)

-*- Cover the entire page, applying glue to a section at a time, then trim around the edges to make certain that the sides are even.

-*- Repeat. Everybody makes FOUR sheets total, and mails TWO of them to each of their swap partners.

These can be used for fun backgrounds for ATC's, inches, homemade cards or other fun crafts. Even the kids can help (with some supervision.)

If you're like me, once you get started, you may just like it so much, that you'll keep going!

Newbies are very welcome - just have a completed profile. (And yes, I'll check)

Anyone with a 4.8 or higher, with no recent no-sends. If you've been rated unfairly, let me know, we can work something out.

I'm allowing a couple weeks to get these done, they really are quite addictive!

have FUN with this, and let's see what we can come up with! If you have any questions, please just ask.

Once done, can they be folded to mail?

gramsbuttonbox 07/ 9/2015 #

That's up to you, I suppose, but I don't think it could maintain the quality. There is a big risk the all your r work might be spoiled, and you would have to risk a poorer rating. I do not think that would be worth the risk of it being damaged in transit. Hope that doesn't put you in an unpleasant state.

Good luck, I do hope you enjoy making them!

for me personally, in order to keep the swaps that I host on my dashboard, I do NOT click the "sent" link. Yes, I know that I can still see them in my own SENT folder, but I don't want to forget to check on them.

I ALWAYS post to the comments that I've sent it, and to whom it is going.

If you have any concerns, please just ask. Thanks, swappers!

Isn't that what the 'hosting' tab is for? This sounds like a fun swap! Watchin for now to see if I'll have time to complete. Are they senders choice or do they have to be profile based? I ask because with school, work, kids, family, etc, etc, I like to complete my swaps before signing up, to make sure I can commit. Thanks!

Sender's choice...I hope you might join us, but if not, I'll be running it again in a couple weeks...maybe we can see you then!

gramsbuttonbox 07/14/2015 #

I don't know what you mean by "hosting"tab...

TerryF 07/15/2015 #

Hover your mouse over "Dashboard" (top left of the page) and then click on "Hosting" in the drop down menu. This is where all the swaps you are hosting are listed for your reference.

I only have an iPad...there is no mouse, and if I just try holding it down, I get a drop down that says "open, open ion new tab, or close". Maybe I need a new computer! I'm on disability, so unless one of my swap partners sends me one, it might take years....

Thanks so much for explaining it tho...swap bot has moved in to the 21st century, andmaybe left me behind! Haha

@gramsbuttonbox on your ipad, when you have your dashboard open, you will see several words just above your top swap. One is sent, archived, and hosting. Select the "hosting" and push or click on it. This will bring up all the swaps you are hosting listed by sending date. Hope this helps. This is a cute swap, but I have to pass this time.

Thank you, I found it! I've said it before...I'm not very tech-savvy! Heehee

partners will be assigned the day after the signup, July 25. Be sure to get your swap mailed on time, I hope you had FUN with this!

One of the newbies who signed up for this swap, has not been online since the 16th,and nothing is written in her profile at all. I've written to her, but if I don't see anything written on her profile, or see her online, I will have to remove her.

Most of my swaps are newbie friendly, but I always state in the rules, that they must have a filled-in profile.

gramsbuttonbox 07/25/2015 #

Partners have been assigned, so get your swap finished, and in the mail. Be sure to include the swap name, your own swap ID, and the date you mailed it.

I hope you had FUN with this, and hope to see you in some of my other swaps, or maybe this one again. (It will be repeated every other month.)
