Description:

Who wants to get a one of a kind fabric postcard? The requirements are easy. You make one and receive one. The fabric postcard needs to measure 4 x 6 inches at the time of mailing. The front can be any design or amount of stitching that you wish to do. The back needs to be a light colored fabric like muslin so that you can easily see the address and information. Please write your partner a cheerful message. Make sure that you write the word postcard on the back. I use a permanent black info pen to write on the back of the ones I send. You can mail these with a 42 cent stamp in the USA. The swap is for USA only. If it goes well I will host an international swap. Be creative and have fun. Send something you would like to receive. You must have a rating of 4 or better to participate. No flakers please.

I wish you well in this swap and look forward to an international version! :-)

Shouldn't the fabric be glued to cardstock? Just curious if the post office will allow me to mail a flimsy piece of fabric? Also, do you allow newbies?

I use a double sided stabilizer in the middle. Like pelon peltex 72. You can get 30 4 x 6 postcards out of a yard of it. Believe it or not you can mail the postcard flimsy. I have gotten them no problem. You can iron the card stock onto the peltex just like fabric.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'll try my hand at making some first and look out for the next round. It's a great idea, but being new at it (with a broken sewing machine and classes starting soon:/) I'm not sure I could get them done by the due date. Will be looking for the next round though!
