Artist Bio/Artist Statement Swap

This swap will hopefully help everyone with writing their artist biographies/artist statements. (Artist bios/statements are often needed when entering art shows/art fairs or when meeting with galleries/potential clients.)

You will have two (2) partners to whom you will send a copy of your artist bio/statement. Your artist statement MUST be typed and double-spaced and should be at least one full page long and must include your full name and contact information such as business name, address, website, etc. (Normally, you wouldn't double-space your artist bio, but this will make it easier to for your partner to make notes.)

Your partner will then read your artist statement and make suggestions and critiques on ways to improve your artist statement. This includes crossing out unnecessary/unclear information, finding spelling/grammatical errors, run-on sentences, making notes in the margins/separate piece of paper and generally pointing out ways to make your artist statement even better.

After critiquing your artist statement, your partner will then mail your statement back to you within two weeks of the send-by date. (This means Sept. 15) This does require some trust on everyone's parts, but since this is a group swap, I think we'll be okay.
