Hello! I will very likely join this swap closer to the date, but I'm wondering, any advice for mailing the jar? Probable postage range, packaging, etc? I think this would be fun to send naked, but I've never sent anything like this before. Googling hasn't helped, and there is nothing in the first 10 pages of the "swap questions" help forum. Thanks in advance!

I wish I could join. I really do. Sending a jar is expensive. >.< I was thinking of doing something similar in a Ziplock-type baggie. MUCH cheaper to mail. So, have fun, and if you don't mind a near-copycat swap later, I'd do it with a baggie.

As for the jar itself, where does anyone buy a 16oz plastic jar?

16oz is one pint. There is this gelato called "Talenti" in a lot of stores. Aside from being freaking delicious it comes in a 16oz plastic jar! It's like $3 in store. I'm in TX so it probably costs a little more elsewhere. It's SO GOOD THOUGH

I highly suggest the chocolate, coconut or Carmel cookie crunch.

Everyone is welcome to post a list of their favorite ponies. Wal-Mart has 16 oz. plastic jars, but you are welcome to use any kind of plastic container with a lid that you have decorated. If you use a plastic container, the postage is very little more than it would be in a baggie. While it would be nice to honor your partner's favorite pony, it might be difficult for some, so that is not a requirement. Just fill the container with all things MLP!

Oh, and by the way, my favorite pony is Applejack and Vera's (my granddaughter) are Derpy and Rainbow Dash!

Hi! I'm waiting until a bit closer to the sign up to make it official, but I was still looking for some suggestions for sending it. Is this a pop it in a box and call it a day sort of thing?

@BabaKatya As someone who has sent both baggies and a jar, I can say that that isn't so. Jars are much more expensive because they need to be sent in a box, not an envelope. So, sadly I will pass on this swap, and likely make one of my own later.

I was just looking to make this a fun swap, and personally enjoy whimsey jars. However, if most people prefer sending a baggie, I will rewrite the swap with that in mind. Please let me know your preference.

Hello! Doctor Whooves is actually my favorite (he's on my shelf next to a Tardis ;-) but of the main ones, I identify as Twilight Sparkle, although to be honest I love all of them.

So, I'm sure you're sick of my questions by now, but I found a cute MLP cup that I can fit a lid on. It's actually bigger than 16 oz, and I thought it might be fun to use. If not, no worries, I just wondered.

My entire family loves My Little Pony. Our favorite is Doctor Whooves and Cheese Sandwich, but we love them all. My son (9) begged to be Discord for halloween so I made his costume :-) My daughter (5 yrs) ia a little princess crazy so likes them a little bit more at the moment. She was so excited for for Twilight Sparkle to become an alicorn.

How much are y'all decorating the jar itself? Cause I'm afraid if I decorate it too much you wont be able to see the goodies inside! But when I search whimsy jars they don't look like people decorate them at all. I just want to make sure I do everything right! So how much is too much and how much is not enough in regards to decorating the jar itself?
