Description:

Oh, my, have you ladies googled "free needle book pattern"? Adorable, beautiful, marvelous patterns...it's hard to know where to start!

For this swap, make your partner a pretty little needle book. Please make it at least 3" x 2 1/2" or larger. It needs to have a front and back cover, and two felt pages inside for the needles. It can be any shape: square, round, owl, kitty, house, mushroom, flower. Anything at all. If it's an odd shape, please make sure that the finished size will accommodate the longer needles.

The front cover should be decorated. The decorations can be anything from applique to embroidery to fabric paint. The outside covers can be any type of fabric.

Have I covered everything? If not, please let me know!

This is a great idea! I'm gonna go ahead and join before I even know what I'm doing LOL.

Hi, @deanie well, yeah! That's what I do :)

Minxy1964 01/15/2015 #

That's pretty much my approach to life in general lol

High five, it's great to be among similar crazy minds :D

TereDiane1954 01/15/2015 #

Don't you mean "Great minds think alike"?

starhiker 01/17/2015 #

Beadwork as decoration is ok right?

TereDiane1954 01/17/2015 #

Yes, beadwork is great!

Minxy1964 01/18/2015 #

Having looked at your profile, Starhiker, and seen your beadwork, I think that would look awesome xx

starhiker 01/21/2015 #

Why thanks Minxy1964! I want to be humble but I am pretty good at beadwork. I'm old and have had time to practice a lot. I've made reproduction beadwork for museums. It takes too long to do to make $ at so I just work for enjoyment now. This type of item is perfect for Victorian whimsy beadwork, my needle case is gonna be Mohawk styled although I'm Cherokee, part of the beads I'll use are 150 yrs old. A great thing about this swap, its for a useful object, so I can enjoy whatever I get all the time while I sew or bead.

I just made one for myself out with TM inspired patches as the front and back. I love it! I don't use the arm of my chair for my needles /pins anymore! Lol

Wish I could join but cant afford the international postage for this one. Have fun! Cant wait to see pictures on the groups Flickr page.

Flicker page? Where? Okay, lol, I know its on flicker! But how do I find it?

TereDiane1954 01/29/2015 #

@grammag it's a sticky at the top of this group's home page.
