Edited to 1 partner.

I’ve decorated plenty of envelopes with washi tape, but this technique looks fun too. As you’ll see by these instructions washi-envelopes and by my own sample (see swap photo), it’s easy!! You just lay down strips of washi tape until it covers the surface of a piece of paper, large enough to make yourself a mailing envelope. If you have an Envelope Punch Board, go that route, or if you don’t, take apart any envelope you have on hand and make yourself a template. Of course, you may already have templates, being this is an envelope group.

Do this twice so you end up with 2 envelopes. You will be sending one to each of your 2 partners. Along with each envelope, you will include 8 different washi tape samples. By washi tape, this is the kind that can easily be ripped with your fingers, not the shiny deco tape that needs to be cut with scissors. The minimum length for each tape should be 12 inches (30.48 cm). Feel free to send a longer length if you would like. Please wrap your samples around a shiny surface so it can be easily removed. (Note: if you use cheaper playing cards like you get at the Dollar Stores here in the USA, please cover them with clear packing tape first. If you don’t, most likely, the layer of tape next to the playing card will pull up the card design and be unusable.) If you lay your two cards side by side, you can then add a small piece of washi tape to tape them together so they stay flat for mailing.

Please add a note card to each envelope for stability. You could put the tapes into it and write a little note (including your name and swap-bot ID).

Lastly, I ended up adding clear packing tape to the edges of the envie because not all washi is created equal (some is stickier than others) and sometimes the ends peel up. The clear tape takes care of this - LOL! Also you might want to add some clear tape to hold down your address labels because they didn't want to stick to the washi surface.

Even with this last step, I had loads of fun and think you will too! Come on out & play :)
