Description:

I love designing "stickers" that I can use to decorate envelopes I am sending to swap partners, and I am hoping to find others that do too!

For this swap, you will design 1-3 "sticker" designs that measure 1" x 2-5/8".
These designs will be sent electronically to your swap partners.
The sticker designs can then be put into a template for Avery 5160/8160 (or comparable) label sheet for printing.

The sticker design's theme should have something to do with Mail - air mail, happy mail, snail mail - you get the idea!

For inspiration look on Google Images or Etsy.

  • For everyone participating in this swap I will also send them 2 designs of stickers that I have created as a bonus!

All levels of "graphic designers" are invited to join in this swap. You won't be rated on your ability, but rather if you send your partner the designated number of designs in a timely manner.

Feel free to ask questions. This is the first time I have hosted a swap like this, so I hope I have explained it well enough.

What's the best file type?

I assume creating a .jpg that can be cut/pasted works ok for everyone?

If you are looking for templates to start with, I found some in all program types here.

http://www.avery.com/avery/enus/Templates-%26-Software/Templates/Labels/Address-Labels//dimensions-1-x-2-5-8/?N=4294963712+4294965703

I think PDF is the best file type but if you cannot save it as a PDF then a JPG at the highest resolution would also be fine. I can help if anyone gets stuck.

I did PSD, but saved as both PDF and JPG. I can send as either/both depending on prefernce.

When I upload them in to the template to do a test print, I'm getting white edges (which I hate)...any thoughts?

Thanks!

Are you saving each design as a separate file? How are you doing the test print? I can try myself and see if I have similar results.

I'm testing on the labels, maybe it is how I'm inserting them, because I'm using Word...any other recommendations? (That template link doesn't work for me and when I search for templates from their site, it comes up as gibberish...hmm, Parsons, what was I doing during my digital design classes?! Hahahahah!)

Thanks everyone for the help! I just want to send good quality stuff to you all.

I guess since it is electronic, I could send and if you all have issues, I can fix however you recommend and re-send...right?

(I'm really excited for all these stickers!)

Well, I sent mine out (since I'm due with baby boy #2 on the 15th - haha!), so maybe someone will be able to help and I can make more / fix mine! Thanks for all your help!

Thanks to everyone for being so helpful with these questions. I was out last evening and wasn't online at all.

Good luck with baby boy, @alexwhatton
