Scavenger Hunt Journal

July 3rd is my birthday so I wanted to celebrate it with a fun swap.

RULES OF SWAP......

  1. For this swap you will need to ****MAKE A BOOK*** of some kind with sturdy pocket pages. Around 31 - 50 pages.

  2. Decorate the journal in the THEME of -- BUTTERFLIES

Now the reason for these pockets will be to have some place to store the items you are going to be hunting for. These things are going to be small and mostly flat items. These treasures that you will be finding, or will be something you already have in your art stash. This swap should cost you only for the journal and postage. You will have one item to find daily. You will have 1 partner for this swap. Feel free to add any extras you want to with your items. We all love extras : ) Make the journal pretty for your partner.

You will have a full month to work on this journal. So have fun with it.

The first page of the journal should be a short bio page. Number and label the pages. No need to follow the list in the order I have it BUT you must have all items on the list in it.

Day 1 -- Something with an animal print.

Day 2 -- 20 stickers - NO cheap outlined kids stickers!!

Day 3 -- Something animal shaped or with an animal on it.

How are we supposed to fit rolls if ribbon inside a notebook?

grandmaroro 06/ 8/2014 #

Since my birthday is July 6, I gotta join in. Very fun idea. Rolls of ribbon can be quite small. The adhesive backed ribbon at Hobby Lobby is what I will use. That is what I would prefer anyway.

grandmaroro 06/ 8/2014 #

Fifty pages does seem a bit excessive --- could make for a very thick journal.

DixieDiane 06/ 9/2014 #

Several things I don't have or use-this journal will be overly 'fat' Maybe next time the items will be all flat items basically. Nice idea tho :)

LunaMoody 06/ 9/2014 #

THESISNANNAHBETH -- They sale small rolls of ribbon also. Do don't need to get those big fat rolls unless you want....

GRANDMARORO -- You wont necessarily be filling all 50 pages. But having done this swap enough times I know that it's nice to have extra space to put what you send. And I tend to send a lot of extras so ....

DIXIEDIANE -- the items you pick to send can be as flat as you want. Your choosing what to send. The only thing you have to do is make sure that what you send fits the listings for each day.

Does the journal have to big enough to hold the 6x6 paper completely inside or can it hang out as long as it's packaged safely?

LunaMoody 06/11/2014 #

It can hang out or if something is to large for the journal you can also put it into a zip bag just make sure you label it for what day it is.

This is a great idea! I don't even do journal swaps, but this is going to to be soooo much fun. I can't wait to start working on mine, in fact, I'm starting tonight. Count me in....

LunaMoody 06/13/2014 #

great glad you can join : )

Thesisnannahbeth 06/14/2014 #

So can I take the ribbon off the rolls as long as its all there?

grandmaroro 06/14/2014 #

I've been in - I've been out - now I'm back in. But I am seriously afraid that I will need more time to make this. Can you possibly extend the send-by date?

grandmaroro 06/14/2014 #

Send by date is fine. I have old eyes that don't work well sometimes I'm off to start making my journal. This should be just so much fun..

LunaMoody 06/15/2014 #

yes you can take the ribbon of the roll

hoathwa 06/19/2014 #

Maybe next time.. this sounds like great fun.. but I have never made a journal and this is scary.. I will practice and hopefully join the next time ;))))
