Description:

[Gypsy's note: I extended the send date by 2 days so that members who only go to the post office on weekends would be able to make the tail end of the send time.]

This particular swap is designed for members who are new to making ATCs and for those who are already established at making them. It's an open theme swap so feel free to make a card in whatever theme your heart desires. The media you choose is up to you. You can use polymer clay, fabric, pen and ink, collage, paint, etc. Just have fun with it :). [Gypsy's note: google "artist trading card" for images/examples of ATCs/Artist Trading Cards.]

For those who are new to ATCs [Artist Trading Cards], the accepted size is 2.5" x 3.5" [6cm X 9cm] or roughly the size of a playing card. [Gypsy's note: While some collectors do not mind if embellishments go over the edges of the card, there are some who save them in plastic baseball card sleeves, so if anything is over the edges, the ATC won't fit in the sleeve. It might be best to pm your partner if you think you may have embellishments that go over the edges.]

They're usually on cardstock or some sort of sturdy base. [Gypsy's note: I recycle cereal boxes to use as a base, but you can also buy blanks from www.orientaltrading.com] The rest of the design is up to you.

Each swapper will be responsible for sending one card to one partner. Please remember to sign the back of your card with your name or swap-bot name and the title of the card and if it is part of a series. [Gypsy's note: I also put my contact info on the back of mine--just an email, in case someone wants to do a private ATC swap later on. I also recommend that you put the date on the back of the card as well. Some of us keep them in binders for years...:)]

If anyone has any questions about the swap please post a comment or message me. [Gypsy's note: or you can get in touch with me as well!] If anyone has any comments about making ATCs, please comment, or PM myself or one of the other officers and we'll be glad to assist. [Gypsy's note: me too!]

[Gypsy's Note: If you have the ability to scan or photograph your ATC, please do so and post a picture of it either in The Attic or in the comments section. If you can get a picture but don't know how to post it, feel free to contact me. I can't wait to see everyone's creations!]
