thank you to everyone who has participated in the last 7 rounds. i am very happy to be hosting round 8. I am already thinking of something special for round 10! this swap is for sending a variety of cut-outs & paper to your swap partners that they can use for mail art, ATC's, collage, smash/junk journals etc. swap requirements: in an envelope minimum A6/4.5 x 6.4 (standard envelope) fill it with cut-outs from pretty magazines, newspapers, childrens books, paper ephemera, etc.,. you must find these cut-outs yourself and spend time cutting them out for your partner. the minimum cut-outs you can send is 20. TWENTY. if you think you can't do this, don't join. yes your partner might count them and yes, you HAVE to send 20. please remember cut-outs are almost weightless and this is a cheap swap to send even international so please do try and fill the envelope. people keep asking minimum size for cut-outs. they can be tiny, or large, but please send a variety. i would say the minimum size is a fingernail... but for example don't think if you cut-out 20 tiny tiny things, it's ok. use common sense... required cut-outs to send include: - pictures/images - text/quotes - patterns - shapes - anything pretty and can be used for collage, smash book, etc - any cut outs from paper ephemera things that do NOT count as cut-outs: -takeaway menus / ads / junk mail -bookmarks -stickers / embellishments -full page ads from magazines -ribbon / deco tape / etc it is senders choice as long as you follow those guidelines. you are more than welcome and encouraged to also include ANYTHING flat (postcards, paper scraps, more cut-outs, ads, bookmarks, stickers, photographs)... your partner would like and can use, however please note this does NOT count as 20 cut-outs. i check everyone's profiles. please have good ratings, full profile, active dashboard. i ban anyone i think can't fulfill this swap within reason. comments are your friends! if you're confused about this swap, message me or comment below. swap recap: send 20 nice cut-outs from any paper medium to each partner in an envelope. happy swapping & have fun!!

I have enjoyed sending the 2 that I joined but I felt like the cut-outs I received weren't well thought out and some I had no clue what they were. I use cut-outs a lot in ATC's and love the idea of getting new and interesting ones to work with so I have my fingers-crossed

I usually cut out words and phrases. Is 20 of them good? I would love receive them but I do not want to disappoint my partner. Any tips?

Personally, I would try to go for a variety of items. It's hard to know whether your partner would like 20 words/phrases unless they mention it in their profile.

@kellogg me too. i wish there was a way of putting a requirement for quality but i don't know how to do so :/ i just have my fingers crossed people don't send crap... i have had about a 70% good experience in the previous 8 rounds.

personally for this swap, i get cut outs from pretty, high quality magazines (usually NOT gossip/fashion/free magazines) and cut-out only pretty things and things that i, myself, would want to use. i would love to receive the same but i know not everyone uses the same magazines. i have received some cut-outs i didn't like before that were just random things like shoes, cartoons from comics and it's not just NOT my thing but i can't tell my partner what to send me :/

I often buy beautiful cards and cut them up! This sounds like fun! How quickly will we be matched? I will be unable to post anything after the 19th so I need a really quick turn around!

I was just wondering if some are ok ....I just did not want to be rated lower -- I think some from graphics fairy are so cute and sometimes fit the partner's profile ----

So is it ok as long as mixed with mostly others from magazines and books etc

I usually send more than 20 but maybe the graphics fairy ones can be counted as extras???

This is new to me, and I would love to give it a try. I also make atc's once in a while. If you draw a nice shape on a bookpage, like for example a heart, and you cut that out, would it also count as one?

@dmarie yes, extras are up to you. just make sure the 20 you include are from magazines, books, ephemera, etc and are not printed out or handmade
