Description:

This will be a swap for one month and you will journal your month for your partner. We will start this March 1st and you will do one entry every day for 31 days.

Make sure your journal is light you can use a lightweight notebook, you can use note book paper in a light weight binder (the plastic ones), but please make sure it is lightweight for mailing purposes. You can decorate the cover and you can decorate the pages as you go.

Your first page should be an introduction to your partner about yourself. What follows can include -

What you ate/drank

How many calories you consumed

How much and what type of exercise you did that day

How certain foods affect you emotionally and physically

Beginning and ending weight

All your thoughts and feelings

Recipes

Great diet ideas

Why you want to lose weight and/or how you gained it.

Things you send and receive in our group swaps.

Labels (incl nutritional info) from foods/drinks you love.

Other ideas? Your decision, your book.

Recipes and diet ideas are wonderful additions, but please do not have your journal entry for any day be only a recipe or diet idea, or your food for the day. These are not "how to diet" books. These journals are meant to help keep us on track and to help us to see that other people have some of the same thoughts and feelings. Also, just a list of foods someone ate is not very interesting or inspirational.

Please make the journal interesting, not just a list, its a journal try including some color, remember this needs to be something that you would love to receive as well.

Please be honest. If you don't stay as on track as you want to this month, you can do better next month! On the bright side, your down days will help the receiver not feel so bad about theirs.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm a sucker for these journals - I just finished one for January (need to mail it yet) - and I did two before that with another swapper. :)

Laura did an awesome journal. I totally suck at it .. I learned one thing in January I do NOT eat right at all

I am excited to start this for March - I've got so much going on in my life right now, I'm afraid my partner is going to get a real ear-ful! :)

I am having a really hard time this week - I think I'll start my journal today - I have a lot of thoughts and feelings I need to get down on paper....

Is there a minimum size? I'm thinking of getting a smaller notebook so it's easier to carry around. I would still write as much it might just take several pages to cover a day.

seekingjoytoday - @notebook paper size would be ideal but it is up to you. A really small notebook that could fit in a handbag might be too small, i mean a really tiny one. not sure what size your thinking..can you let me know.

Laura I thought the same thing last night, should start right now.

I picked up some spiral bound notebooks at Michael's today for future journals. They are a nice size and I prefer the spiral binding if I'm going to write in them. They were in their dollar deals but 40% off so only 60 cents each - these happen to have my initial on the front but for something like this it doesn't matter what the design is. They have 80 pages - a good amount so you can write 2-3 pages (one side) a day (more if you use both sides).
