One serving of alligator meat provides for a year's calcium dietary requirement.
There's a restaurant far enough away from my apt that serves alligator specialities. When you drive by you can smell they are cooking 'gator!
And, no, I never send recipe postcards for alligator!

So alligator has a particular smell??? Ick!

Not to ruin your appetite, its usually the smell of fried chicken, pizza, French fries, in the air near a restaurant we know, but fried alligator smells ... different ... & not like fried fish either!
No, I've not seen Florida postcards with alligator recipes - yet. There is another specialty restaurant around the corner, further down the road from the 'Gator Restaurant, no, I can't even stomach the thought - from their ads - what they serve there. Suffice to say its down-home ole south cooking & Caribbean specialties. To each their own taste!
