I would love to sign up but 20 days isnt really enough time.If you could extend the send date i would love to do this.I have an 8 week old son.

about the size of two receiving blankets would be a nice baby blanket size.

Pretty swammped with the holiday swaps and family stuff during this season. I would love to particpate even though I don't have a child I have a connection with Project Linus locally that I could donate what I receive. I'll sign up if this comes around again in late Jan/Fed.

i have made an adjustment for the signup date and the swap date, let me know if i should extend it a bit more... signing up even if you dont have a baby is fine, and a donation to project linus is a beautiful idea if you like:)

as far as size, the size of a recieving blanket is fine:) nothing too big, just a little something to hold and carry around. portable is good for moms:)

Hi, I don't have a baby yet, so a blankie in unisex colours would be great. umm, sorry to be dumb, can a I a rough numerical measurement please - ie .... inches x ..... inches?

I was wondering that my self.The size of receiving blankets are different.I have some 30 by 45 and some 44 by 44..Im going to make mine 30 by 30 and wait to see who i get.If i need to make it bigger for an older child then i can.I do mine in squares so i can just add more squares if i need to.

I prefer no pinks as i have a boy.Im going to do my blanket in some different shades but no pinks.I will let whoever i get know so they can tell me.

Woo woo! just saw the date change so I signed up. I love projects that will keep me busy and I was just getting ready to start on my Project Linus blanket. For those that are not familiar with the group here is the link. It is a U.S. based group. http://www.projectlinus.org/ I have been in contact with my local Central Florida person. Unisex colors please. It can be a light weight yarn too since its usually very warm here. Machine washable and must be from a non-smoking environment. A lot to ask I know but well worth the effort as they are ALWAYS in need! Check the site to see if they have one in your area.

hi girls, sorry it took a while to get back with measurements, how does about 1 meter square ( thats about 40 inches ) sound?

I think my baby blanket does not meet the measurement requirements. It's small, but still useful. I thought it might be on the small side, so I'm making a bigger second one to go along with the first one. It's still not square shaped... it's more of a rectangle shape.

If that's not ok, please let me know.

FunkyChicken - You betcha!!! Just don't put in a lot of extra layers of batting and stuff. Remember, I'm in Florida and the blanket will be donated locally and its usually warm here all year round except for a brief cold snap or two in Dec/Jan. Thanks!

ooh smaller is ok, robin, it was only an estimate since people were asking, you can add another , but its ok if you dont:)

originally the idea was just a travel something to cuddle with, but i gatered from the girls comments, bigger was a bit better.......it matters not if its exactly square or not....

i am not that strict on the creative design aspect.

I dont see our partners either.This happened to me once before.It never did fix it self either.

hi girls, it seems as if swap-bot has added a new feature for coordinators, its so that we are rpompter to check the list for "bad" swapper ratings and banish anyone from our swap kingdom, lol

good thing for us everyone has a good rating:)

***ooh robin, you are my partner.....so any special requests for project linus was it? or maybe it will goto a nearby womens shelter? i often donate things there in winter time, as you may or may not know women and children often leave their homes on a moments notice with nothing, and they are really in need during the holiday season.......maybe i will try to work out a swap for a womens shelter, (note to self):)

Noel... Anything is fine with me. I'm sure the shelter would be happy with anything for a baby. I don't think they get many baby things there on a regular basis.

I'm on the last bits of my blanket. I should have it done by the weekend, then all I need is a border.

I think the shelter swap idea is great. I'd make something to particpate in that swap.

I am only 11 weeks pregnant. I'm hoping to use yellows and greens regardless of boy or girl.

I have a 16-month-old son and an almost 3-year-old daughter. But we also hope for another baby next year. So either boy or girl would be fine. But I really like the aqua/red combo and brown/pink. And please no teddy bears or animal prints!

Did the blanket arrive?

my blanket never arrived and I'm really bummed about it. Even though it doesn't have far to travel, I'm still hoping my partner did mail and it's in transit. It's a shame to disappoint a child.
