Description:

Here is the chance to receive new inspiration from far away! The swap is simple: send to your partner a magazine from your local magazine stand, that can be about :

  • sewing,

  • knitting,

  • quilting,

  • embroidery or

  • patchwork.

Please bear in mind that your partner may not understand your langague. As a consequence, make sure you send a magazine that includes patterns and/or charts so she may have a chance to use it.

The magazine must be new and recent, i.e. the 2013 June, July, August or September issue.

If you have a craft preference, feel free to indicate it in the comments below. For instance, you love cross-stitch embroidery but you can't knit: say it! But please don't be too specific or your partner may not be able to find what you want. For instance, please don't ask for a magazine with sailor clothes pattern for toddler or felt stuffed animal or #XYZZ of a specific magazine. Let's be open to new ideas or style!

Your enveloppe should contain:

  • a new, recent magazine, as described above,

  • a personal note or postcard with a few nice words to your partner.

No ratings lower than 4.9, but newbies with a well-filled profile are welcome! I will angel if necessary but I'm sure I won't have to.

I love sewing, knitting and patchwork. Please, no crochet or X-stitch embroidery.

This is a gret idea! Currently, I have an interest in crochet and knitting.

I like basic patterns and prefer home accessories and decor. I don't mind patterns for clothes/apparel, but would like something a beginner could do, like me.

I'm pushing the sign-in date back to the end of August, just in case someone would like to sign up. I realize summer is a busy time for all of us :)

when will i be informed where to send magazine? i am from finland, and i hope my mag.will do ok to someone :)

Moineau 08/12/2013 #

@henjomaani you'll get an email from Swap Bot informing you than the partners have been assigned, with a link to your partner's snail mail address. On a side note, I have a couple knitting/sewing magazines in finnish and I love the style. Language is not really a barrier with a good pattern!

Hi ya! I like crocheting, sewing, Embroidery, mixed media. I don't knit well. This will be. Neat!

Elanah 08/26/2013 #

Howdy! I love crocheting and sewing, plus I'm learning to quilt. I can't really knit and have never learned embroidery, so beginners only, on those, but otherwise I'm pretty open.

i have 5 leftover magazines,if someone wants to do private swap with me,i can send those magazines that are pretty new.

and about this swap, i would like to receive magazine where is crocheting mainly in focus.

I enjoy knitting, sewing, quilting, and I do a little cross-stitch now and then. Please, no crochet magazines for me. I'm looking forward to this swap!
