Write to your partners (2 -- you can make a xerox or you can write on the computer and print it twice, or you can write two separate letters), and tell them what you day dream you would do this summer if you could -- if money were no object, if you could escape your obligations. Would you take a trip? Would you have a fantastic party? Would you spent the whole time in a swimming pool? Would you take the kids to Disneyland? Would you buy a new car and take a long road trip -- if so, where would you go? Tell your partners why this is your day dream. Is it something you always wanted to do? Or is it something that's you just discovered and think would be fun.

Write about it so enthusiastically that they might want to do it with you. Include pictures or post cards if they are appropriate.

Letter, if hand written should be at least two pages long, if it's typed on the computer it should be something more than one page. Have fun with this letter and you'll look forward to letters from your partners too.

Debi caught my mistake about originally marking this international. The group definition is regional so it was dumb of me not to mark it USA.

But I'm on a small campaign that kind of doesn't affect this group but affects people joining other swaps. The world is a fascinating place and I am interested in people everywhere. I am perfectly happy to spend an extra 50 cents to communicate with someone from another country and I hope others will feel that way. I try not to join swaps where I'm likely to be sending a package overseas because that can become ridiculously expensive (postage can br more than the contents) and it makes my postal clerk grumpy. But Ithink of letters as different, really more personal and more educational about how others life and what they do. I hope other people feel the same. ... I am not advocating changing this group, it was set up as it is and I joined as it is.

I agree. For letters, postcards and even ATCs, making the swap international is always nice.

This sounds like fun. Now I am going to have to think of how I would narrow ALL the things I'd like to do down into something that could all be done in one summer hehe :)

Hi all. I understand that some people don't mind doing international swaps and I have nothing against them but for this group, I purposely made it USA only due to the fact that there a plenty of groups who do the international swaps and when I started this one, I didn't see any USA only letter groups at all. : )

I like knowing that I can just throw on one stamp and off the letter goes, without having to bother calculating how much postage it'll be and so on.

The group is and will remain USA only.

However, I want to note that there is a new international stamp -- it's round and a globe. I really like it. Now mailing to anywhere in the world, whether Canada or Malaysia costs the same. One could buy a few of the international stamps and have them for other swaps that are international.
