I know there are a few of us that have ended up with lots of vintage postcards, so this is a swap for anyone who wants to update their stash! You will have 1 partner and you will send that partner 5 blank (not written on) vintage postcards in an envelope. These should be actual vintage postcards (not just vintage style). When I think vintage postcards I think of pcs from around the '60s. (I don't know if that is actually considered 'vintage.') Not all postcards have a date on them, so use your best judgement. Any subject is fine, just needs to be a vintage pc. Make sure your pcs are in good shape (a little yellowing is normal, I'd say). Happy swapping! Remember, these are 5 blank postcards (not written on!) in an envelope to 1 partner. No duplicates! 5 different postcards!

Vintage is from the 1970s and before for postcard collectors. Any newer and they are considered recent.

Some of these pre-80 are 4x6 or continental size, very few were that size though.

I do not collect that size, so I have a few of that size I can swap, so if you are my partner, or think you might be and prefer the continental size of vintage, comment here so I can try and send those to someone that wants them.

This is perfect, because I am preparing to sell some lots on a selling site as soon as I get them together and photoed. So my extras, ( copies of the same card) are perfect for this swap.

The size of a Vintage postcard is 3 1/2" x 5 1/2" and those cards were published before the 1970's. Any other size is not considered to be vintage. I think this needs to be clarified in the swap description. I would love to join if this is clarified. Thanks!

It sounds like there are varying opinions on what "vintage" means. :)

I think "vintage" is usually defined as an item that is at least 20 years old, but less than 100 years, which would then be called "antique."

Most of the swaps I've been in have considered vintage as pre-1980, but with the size flexible.
