These are awesome little crafts to do and so much can be done with them too! Teesha Moore is an artist who created these patches and covers her art journals with them. However, I've seen many other projects with them too.

The basic gist of them is to take 2 pieces of fabric and a piece of batting (although I'm sure that felt or something similar would be fine too) and make a tiny quilt with the pieces. You don't have to be able to sew by machine, in fact i'd say 99% of the patches I've seen are hand-sewn. Also, it actually looks ok if you embroider it through both front and back of the pieces as they most likely will be used to put together another craft. The possibilities are really endless.....

There's a board on my pinterest titled Teesha Moore Patches or you can go to craftster.org and search teesha moore for ideas and inspiration. If you have any questions, please ask me. I check my messages every day, so I'll answer as soon as I get them.

For this one, we'll have 2 partners and make each partner 3 patches. Since these are small, they're fairly quick to put together. Patches are sender's choice, so feel free to start when you sign up.

The not so fun stuff.........no recent 1's at all, no 3's in the last 6 months, if you have some and feel you should be able to participate in the swap, contact me and I'm sure we can work something out :) That being said, only sign up if you intend to complete the swap and have fun!

(The patch in the photo is one I made)

What is the size in inches? Or the size range? I've been looking all around the internet at these this morning after seeing this swap and I'm interested, but unsure if I want to commit yet....

thank you for the link @mamamay

@wanda there's no size requirements but I generally start around 3-4" . I've seen all sorts of shapes, so anything you come up with would be cool

Okay, I just signed up...finally. I watched the video (Teesha Moore on YouTube) and at first thought, I don't want to know how to make a journal cover, I want to know how to make the actual patches! Well, for anyone else frustrated with the video, watch it completely. Don't give up. In PART ONE she does eventually show how to make the patches. ;)

So today, I made 1 and a half of the little pillow-patches. Gosh, they are hard on my thumb, pulling the needle through the layers! But I do like the results. Mine are turning out different sizes - mostly in the 3" - 3.5" range. Eventually, I'll put the photos on my Flickr.
