For this swap you will create 1 stocking (from paper), decorate, and fill wilth 4 flat goodies from the list below. This will have a rather short turn around so the upcoming holiday mail issues can be avoided.

This is SENDER'S CHOICE, so go ahead and get started if you would like.

Recap:

  • 1 paper crafted Christmas (non religious) DECORATED stocking (at least 6 inches).
  • 1 partner
  • Choose 4 (FOUR) of the following to "stuff the stocking" with:
    • 1 Christmas related ATC
    • 2 Christmas related inchies
    • 2 "flat" Christmas related Sticker Sheets
    • 1 "3D" Christmas related Sticker Sheet
    • 10 Christmas related address labels
    • 3 store bought Christmas cards
    • 1 handcrafted Christmas card

    • 2 favorite Christmas recipes
    • 2 Store bought Christmas related PCs
    • 1 Christmas related handcrafted PC
    • 3 handfolded Christmas Envies

Pack Stocking carefully. Shoddy work, or torn stocking because of poor packaging can result in a lower rating.

I know there is no need to go into the flaking information. Plain and simply stated: You Flake = Your Out!

Is it weird that I am ridiculously excited about this swap? Cause I totally am!

Paige1900 10/26/2012 #

LOL...nope not weird at all...I attempted to make a stocking last night and tried to sew paper (the first time ever)...uhm...it was terrible!

flofirenzie 11/ 3/2012 #

I want to find the paper bag to make this stocking

TerryF 11/ 3/2012 #

That would be easy enough to make by stamping some brown paper...

Leejas72 11/ 3/2012 #

Does anyone know of a video tutorial for a stocking? I would love to join but don't want to get in over my head trying to make the stocking!!

Paige can correct me if I am wrong, but I think all the stocking has to be is 2 pieces of stocking-shaped paper joined somehow: sewn, glued, stapled and covered with ribbon (but not along the top) - that sort of thing. Then you just decorate it however you like.

Terry (and anyone else wondering). . .

I delibrately left the description of the stocking vague. It can be any type stocking (as long as it is made from paper).

For example: All these are fine)

  • 2 pieces connected together like you described

  • 1 piece of STURDY cockstock in the shape of a stocking with a pocket on back to hold the goodies.

  • As long as it is constructed of paper (somehow) and at least 6 inches, it is fine.

Hope this makes sense. : )

Yeah I just keep trying these challenges....what am I thinkin....or am I?!

I do have to ask....do the decorating items to make the outside have to be paper or can we bling and layer and such?

Paige1900 11/ 9/2012 #

Bling Baby Bling...As long as the main component is paper (meaning the stock), you can cover it in bat guano if you would like. (However; if you choose bat guano I seriously hope you aren't my partner. :P ) ♥

Paige1900 11/13/2012 #

by "stock" I actually mean "stocking". o_O
