Description:

Let's try something different this year. How about a historical costume that depicts a time in history that would celebrate our independence. For example, an 1812 Empire type dress to celebrate the writing of the Star Spangled Banner. Or a colonial dress to commemorate the creation of the first American flag. Or a prarie dress to celebrate statehood of a territory. What about the Suffragettes the got women the right to vote (Susan B Anthony and I were born on the same day - but not the same year)!! Maybe a dress for Addy when Slavery was abolished. And what about WWI and WWII? Let your imagination go wild. We all have a lot to celebrate!

Please include a short note about the historical date and significance of the outfit you chose. Thanks!
