(The picture is pulled from Google - so many pretty dotees to look at!)

This swap is open to everyone from beginner dotee makers to the more advanced folks. Just do your very best and send something you are proud of! :)

For this swap, you will create one dotee doll for your partner. Sender's choice on theme/colors, so feel free to crack out your fabrics and whatnot now! If this is your first time making one, look up "dotee doll tutorial" on Google - goodness knows, others can explain it much better than I can. (I fail at describing things!) It should have a hanger and a tail, and the body should be 2-5" tall, NOT including said hanger or tail. Embroider or decorate to your heart's content!

The difference, with this swap vs most dotee swaps - you can absolutely send these FLAT to keep postage costs down. That is, you can leave a small opening along the side or the bottom so your partner can stuff and close it themselves. Feel free to send it completely finished if you'd like, but keep in mind that you might have to fill & stitch a small bit on the one you received.

This group is maintained well, but I reserve the right to ban at my discretion.

If you have any questions, please just PM me! :)

I sent a dotee to England the other day and forgot about the customs form. Not only did I have to fill it out but the clerks have to enter it into the computer. I would not mind receiving it flat and sewing it myself. Would the tail be separate and would a custom form be needed? Has anyone tried it?

You should be able to attach the tail, since it will mostly be sewn together - just leave a small opening so your receiving partner can get the stuffing in. It should be basically complete, minus the opening, so your partner just has to stuff and stitch a small portion. You could POSSIBLY get away without using a customs form, depending on how big your beads and whatnot are, but you technically should use one anyway, I think. (I'm not in the US, so I'm not able to test this.)
