Description:

Ready to put together another kit? Missed out on KSKS? Well, Scout and I have come up with a new swap to keep you all busy. Because you need a distraction from that holiday knitting, right?

So here’s the dealio.

We’re shifting from feet to hands. I don’t know about where you live, but here in CT, it’s been chilly in the morning when I leave for work. What better solution than a pair of mitts? Or maybe you’d like to make a pair for a loved one after the holiday rush, as a little Valentine’s day token.

Your task then, should you chose to accept it, is to create a Knit Mitt Kit to swap with another kitter.
Included in the package to your pal should be: • A little-project bag MADE BY YOU • A mitt or mitten or glove pattern • Enough yarn to make the pattern • Accessories to help

You could also include • Treats (who can’t use a bit of candy to help with boring or challenging parts?) • Whatever you think should go in the Mitt Kit!

Visit the Swap blog at www.ksks.scoutj.com for more details and to find the questionnaire. If you don't have a blog, you can post your answers on the swap blog. Just let your pal know (after she's contacted you) where to find it!

If you think there is any chance at all that you won’t be able to keep this commitment, please don’t sign up. We don’t have time to chase down flakes; you understand, right?

Hey, Kitters, be sure to visit the swap blog at www.ksks.scoutj.com and register so you can post!

Welcome!

dashenka 11/ 1/2006 #

I saw the cutest mitten kit in my LYS today - is it too much cheating to send a ready made kit? I would obviously send everything else as per the list.

PoMoGolightly 11/ 1/2006 #

Dashenka, You MUST make the bag for the kit. If you then want to put a pre-made kit into it, that's up to you. Please remember that there will be a questionnaire so you can tailor everything to your pal's tastes. --Beverly

Just a question about the survey. Do we complete that on our blog, providing the answers there?

PoMoGolightly 11/ 1/2006 #

Good question. If you have a blog, then yes, please post the questions and your answers there. If you don't have a blog, you can use the swap one: www.ksks.scoutj.com. Just be sure to let your pal know where to find your questionnaire once they've contacted you after matches.

SheWhoMust 11/ 2/2006 #

I just signed up (or hope I did). where do I find the survey or do you send it to me?

PoMoGolightly 11/ 2/2006 #

Hi Stephanie, welcome! The questionnaire is on the swap blog: www.ksks.scoutj.com.

Have fun!

I lost my login info. How can I find it! Ann in Vermont [email protected]

PoMoGolightly 11/ 4/2006 #

Ann, if you go to the log in page, there is a place to query for a lost password. You probably should have an e-mail from swap bot from when you first signed up, too, I would think...

PoMoGolightly 11/ 5/2006 #

Be sure to visit www.ksks.scoutj.com for reminders and up to date swap information! Several people have asked if this is a secret swap: YES! Also, be sure to e-mail your pal to let them know that they've got a kitter, ok?

user4653 11/ 6/2006 #

If we use the swap bot form to contact our partner, will it reveal who we are?

PoMoGolightly 11/16/2006 #

Sorry, I just saw this! I'm not sure. You might be better off using an anonymous e-mail.

user2638 11/16/2006 #

I've contacted the person I send to, but I haven't heard from the person sending to me yet. Should I worry?

jamaicamom 11/17/2006 #

Was there a limit on this swap? I have everthing for my partner, just need to finish her bag!

Katrynka 11/18/2006 #

Oops, I just marked mine as "sent" by accident. I guess I will contact swap-bot and see if they can re-set it! I did not mean to do that! I thought I was looking at another swap.

PoMoGolightly 11/20/2006 #

Sorry to be behind on answering questions, but here goes: No, there is not a limit on this swap. We will follow the Golden Rule here: give a kit that you would LOVE to recieve (quality-wise) but is also suited to the taste of your pal.

Guinifer--have you tried to post on the blog: www.ksks.scoutj.com? If so and you still haven't heard, e-mail me and I'll try to get in touch. Let me know if it's the person you're sending to or is sending to you, ok?

PoMoGolightly 11/20/2006 #

ATTENTION:

FERNANDA in Portugal: Please contact the person making your kit asap. If you don't have her e-mail, contact me!

jamaicamom 11/21/2006 #

I have joined 3 swaps and I am not sure if my partner for this swap has contacted me or not. Could you please drop me a note? Thanks

I marked mine as sent also! I thought I was on another swap! I will send mine on the 16th along with everyone else. Thanks!

user3527 11/28/2006 #

I haven't heard from my partner yet. Feeling kinda lonely here...

moirae 12/ 1/2006 #

Testing to see who I am here. Where is my partner?

PoMoGolightly 12/11/2006 #

If you don't get contact with your partner, please e-mail me rather than leave a message here; I don't check this as often as I do my e-mail. Thanks!

PoMoGolightly 01/ 8/2007 #

Just a reminder that Kits are due to be mailed on January 16th!

Please visit the blog at www.ksks.scoutj.com for a tutorial on mailing as well as a link to post pictures of your kit when it arrives.

I can't wait to see what you've all made!

jamaicamom 01/12/2007 #

I'm so excited! I have to make my bag today and load up my kit-I can't seem to stop buying more goodies for it! I may mail mine on the 13th because the 16th will be a heavy mail day due to the holiday! Have fun and happy swapping!

user4688 01/16/2007 #

My package is on his way to Alaska . It may take longer since it's come from Canada. The post told me that it should take 6 to 10 days. Hope that my swap partner is happy with my knit mitts kit.

abbehope 01/16/2007 #

I just sent my kit a few minutes ago :) Hope my partner will like it and not have to wait too long for it to arrive... Mail from Norway to USA usually takes a week or three...
