Description:

We are making a Journal for our partner......based on a scavenger hunt.. You have the option of buying or making your journal just so long as it has at least 20 pages and no smaller than 5 x 7"....

Work on 20 or more pages..
From the list below pick 20 or more items.. that you can represent on a journal page.. They do not have to fill the page.. because we want to leave room for our partner to be able to journal.. No specific order to your pages..you choose which page comes first.

You are decorating the journal and leaving space for your partner to do their own journaling.. ( I made several of these journals a few years back and the example is one I completed and later added quotes to..)

Example Pages..
page one
page two
page three

The item you choose can be represented in many different ways.. Here are just a few examples:

A LEAF: this could be a drawing, an actual leaf, magazine cut-out, skeletal leaf, zentangled leaf, oragami leaf... ETC... (you should have a variety.. not all magazine cut-outs..or zentangles..)

CHOOSE 20 or more ITEMS..

  • Old book page
  • Map
  • Playing card
  • Fibers
  • Junk mail
  • A holiday
  • A famous artist or their style of art
  • Important day in history
  • Wild animal
  • A leaf
  • Clock face
  • A pocket
  • A quote
  • Business envelope
  • Ticket stub
  • Postage stamp
  • Domestic Pet
  • Television Show
  • Travel
  • Dots
  • Vintage image
  • A poem
  • Music
  • Only one color
  • Famous Movie
  • Fashion
  • Food
  • School
  • Insects
  • Toys
  • Steampunk
  • Menu
  • Numbers

This is not profile based.. so you can start on this journal now.. and have it ready to go..

The front and back covers of the journal should have some type of covering.
You will put your information and swapbot information inside the back cover.
Any other/additional little dooodaddds you wish to add are up to you.

Everyone joing the swap needs to be in good standing.. No 3's or 1's in last 6 months.

Send your journal on time.. and PLEASE... rate your partner.....If somthing comes up please let me know and stay in contact with your partner.

Sounds like fun... Just got my homemade journal done...

I'm really excited about this - such a great idea. Please clarify if you mean 20 sheets of paper or 10 sheets with 20 sides covered. Thanks.

20 would be... 10 sheets of paper.. page one on front.. page 2 on back.. that would get the 20 .. or

If you wanted to use 20 sheets of paper and just use the front of each would work also.. or

You could decorate the front of one page... skip several pages and decorate another until you have completed 20 ..

Great question.. hope this helps.. : )

Yes this is a fun swap.. I did this several years ago and it was a big hit..

Question... I looked at your examples. We are just doing the scavenger hunting correct? And letting the receiver do most of the decorating... Or do embellish and just leave room to journal? Am I making sense?

snowqueen1426 08/22/2012 #

Yes, we decorate and leave an area for our partner to journal.. The examples are ones that I add quotes to.... sorry for any confusion.. : )
