Lets make some ATCs!

You will have two partners and you will send one ATC to each person.

The only requirement for this swap is that you can not use anything that has any type of adhesive. This means no glue, no tape, no stickers, no deco-tape, etc. Should be a bit more difficult but fun! The theme is up to you!

Be creative and make something you'd love to receive yourself! Standard ATC size please, 2.5"x3.5".

Please no flakers! I will check your profiles. It must be well filled out. I will also check profiles for any unexplained 1's or 3's. If you have those, please message me and explain. I have the right to ban a user who has current unresolved low scores or a profile that hasnt been filled out. Newbies with well filled-out profiles are acceptable.

The only adhesive allowed is the envelope to send the ATC! If you can get around that, I would be majorly impressed!

Great idea for a swap!

So here's some ideas: staples, brads, eyelets, threading cords/ribbons through punched holes. Cut double parallel slits and tuck paper underneath or a single slit, tuck paper in and fold behind. Insert flower stems through holes and secure by stapling a scrap to the stem so the stem can't fall back out the hole. Kind of like attaching a stopper. Tie fabric or ribbon around a layer or the whole ATc itself. Tie or sew on a button going through holes in the paper beneath (pre punch or it's hard to do!) or sew into fabric or ribbon. Attach foam to the back of a layer with a method above and leave enough to staple to the base for dimension without using adhesive foam dots. if you want to use stickers or washi tape, destick them with baby powder or cornstarch and attach using another method. Use rubber stamps instead of stickers, no adhesive required! Fold paper into a pocket and use it to help hold embellishments in place; other adhesive might be require on the other side. You can tuck things under bands of paper, ribbon, fabric or string too.

or just make a digital ATC!

Raksava 07/12/2012 #

i think digital ATCs are kind of cheating in this case, as its meant to be a challenge and i think that would defeat the purpose!

I would just do an ATC that is entirely hand drawn or hand painted without any embellishments glued on!

Isn't just drawing an ATC kind of defeating the purpose as well? Perhaps a stipulation should be that it is an ATC with embellishments of some description. I know I would be extremely disappointed if I received a drawn card for this swap. While it is within the rules it seems to be outside the spirit!

So an ATC is only art if it's some sort of collage? That's really disappointing. I guess I'll drop out of this one.

Raksava 07/15/2012 #

no one said an ATC is only art if its collage. i just want people to try to be creative to find ways around the no adhesives rule. like attach something that would use adhesives but without using any.

to be honest thats kind of offensive because most of my ATCs are hand-drawn/coloured. this challenge was meant to challenge people- go against what they normally do to make something theyre proud of. if you dont want the challenge, thats fine.
