Altered Text GROW ATC Swap

Welcome to the first Altered Text and Artist Books Group Swap!

In this swap you create an Altered Text ATC for 2 swap partners on the theme of GROWTH or to GROW, using the Altered Text Technique. You can create your ATC in any medium you like (you need to start with a book page, the finished ATC can be either an original or a print or photograph of your original work - if a print it's best to mount it on card) - but please keep to the standard ATC size of 2.5" x 3.5".

Please send a message with your card - it's nice to give a little bit of information about the book your started with. Try to use a book not a magazine.

It’s both great and strange for me to see more people working with altered text. I first started using the technique about 15 years ago and in my naivety thought I had invented it!! I later discovered a number of other artists using the same method of working and became fascinated with Artists Books. I have really loved seeing swaps come up with my favourite way of working!

Think about illustrating around your chosen text, maybe use collage, sewing, fabric, stamping etc etc.
