Hello Everyone! Recently, a thread about a flaker claiming to be "dead" brought up memories of dearly departed swappers and friends made through the internet who had indeed died but had touched so many peoples lives and hearts in their time here. One such person was Eva (65 red roses) her livejournal still exists today, updated by family and friends loyal to the charity work and awareness of Cystic Fibrosis which, unfortunately Eva suffered from and played a part in her death. :( Eva's live journal I never knew Eva myself and only recently learned of the beautiful person that she was, and so with this in mind, I was inspired to host '65 red roses' atc swap...now there are a few parts to it, hopefully you'll all be happy to complete all the parts. Part 1: You will have 2 partner, and will make 1 atc featuring a red rose for each of them. Any medium and skill level allowed, except for sticker slapping. you may use stickers to decorate after wards but they must not be part of the main image on the atc's. any medium at all... drawing, felt tips, glitter, embroidery, paint, chalk, fineliner, water colour, collage, dried flowers (only if customs allows it) what ever you feel like using, go with it. you don't have to send identical out, so if you want to do one with paint and one with pen, do it! Part 2: take a photograph or scan in your atc and send me the picture (email address / link to flikr group to be posted at a later date) so that when the swap is done, and i have pictures of all the atc's I can use the images to make a swap-bot 65 roses photo-collage (our own version of the swap image) I would like to send this photo-collage to those who still run Eva's journal for sharing with them. Part 3: send on your atc as usual to your partner! Part 4: Enjoy! I am aware that a similar style swap may have been done in the past, so any stepping on former swap's toes in unintentional. 2 partners - international - any skill level welcome - stick to official atc size (2.5 inches by 3.5 inches)

LOL.... When I first heard about this swapper, passing away, I thought it was a fake out too, and I read a few posts about it. I'm one of the "lucky" ones that she flaked on twice.

I had a friend, who passed away a year ago.... she had CF too. She was my age.

Watching for now....

if you do take part @shannoncollar then your roses could be in memory of your friend.

when I was doing my research I found that "65 red roses" is what children who can't pronounce cystic fibrosis call it.

I hope this swap makes it to the Top Swaps list. @kittenred that is such a heartwarming story. It is so awesome to be part of this swap. Do we have to scan both atc's?

ideally yes, scan in both atcs as I'd want enough to make up 65 roses.

i would love for it to make top swaps list too as I've never had a swap in there, and it's my first time hosting an atc swap as I don't normally do them, so had to have a special reason!

what an amazing idea. I lost my best friend, Grace, to Hodgekin's Lymphoma on August 1, 2007. She was 17 years old, just 2 months and 15 days short of her 18th birthday. Even though it wasn't CF that she passed from, her livejournal is still up. I like to read through it now and then. One of these roses will definitely be for her!

I was so excited when I saw this swap. I had done something similar called "Angels for Cheryl" and really felt good about particiapting. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't join because I do not have a 5 rating. Mine is 4.9977 and due to some "unfair" rating I will never be able to obtain the 5 again. I think 5 is too high.

I do normally host quite a few swaps in the 4.9 ratings, but wanted to keep it more secure this time around, sorry!

and there are ways of getting a 5.0 back again, such as donating to the winter charity drive that Rachel hosts every year.
