Description:

For this swap, you will send your partner 1 postcard (sender's choice). On the back, you will write a Haiku, which is a Japanese form of poetry. It can be serious, silly, or thought provoking.

The first line of the Haiku has 5 syllables. The second line has 7 syllables, and the third line has 5 syllables. Thats it! Here are some examples of Haiku:

Title: Bread

I am baking bread

the wonderful smell of yeast

Get the butter out!

Title: Monday

First day of the week

Hard to get myself going

Coffee and donuts

The Haiku can be about the picture of the postcard, or anything else that you come up with. After you write the Haiku on the back, stick a stamp on it and send it to your partner!

You can also google Haiku and find thousands of them. But I know you will come up with your very own Haiku!

Have fun!

Creating haikus are fun. With your two samples @Margothecat I'm now hungry for fresh baked bread & coffee!
