Description:

This swap is inspired by a Paint Blot ATC swap hosted by @Wanda last year - she has generously allowed me to use her ideas and wording. Thx Wanda!

To make a paint blot, you drip or 'plop' small amounts of paint (any paint you like - acrylic craft paint from the dollar store works just fine) onto paper, then fold in half and mash. Then open your pap er and see what you have.

When your paper is folded, you can mash it squarely or use your fingers to push out from the middle or from side to side.

Depending on which way you do it, and the amount of paint used, your finished blot can turn out all kinds of different ways. Just don't paint it on, trying to make something in particular - that rarely works well, and that is not a true paint blot.

Make your ink blots, cut them out (or not), and give them a proper backing for normal PC sturdiness.

You may add other details using ink, sharpies, glitter, etc. if you wish, but that is optional.

ALSO, on the front of your PCs, add a caption of some kind - silly, serious, funny, wry, whatever you like - that relates in some way to the image you have created. Tell a story!

You may make your PC any size you like as long as it can be sent naked in the mail.

Since I do not check my swaps daily, please pm me if you have any questions. Thx.

Have fun! (";)

my daughter made some in her art class using slick paint and 3D and puff paint in the fat tubes you just squeeze onto the paper and fold! Fun, easy & has a nice shine! ;-)

That's a good idea - I might try that.

You may use any kind of paint you like for this swap - I just suggested dollar store acrylic because it is cheap for anyone who doesn't already have paint.

Omg... mine turned out pretty ugly (for my standards...). Most of us are beginners but again... :P

After discarding 3 disasters, I finally found some really neat images in mine, but when I showed them to DH and asked what he could see, he hadn't a clue - couldn't see anything at all that I could. And he is the creative one in the family. I hope my partners don't also go, "What the...?" lol
