Description:

Origami cranes are known worldwide as a symbol of peace and good luck. Instructions on how to fold origami cranes can be found here. I thought it would be a great way to start of the new year by thinking good thoughts and sharing origami cranes for peace and good luck around the world.

Make and send five origami cranes (in their flattened state, before you puff them up) to each of two partners. So you must make and send a total of 10 cranes. (5 cranes x 2 partners.) International because postage should be low.

Cranes are sender's choice as far as size, color and paper. These cranes may be made out of origami paper or other papers, and I would even suggest considering using recycled papers such as magazines, wrapping paper, or paper bags, etc. No newspaper please as it tends to yellow quickly. Please send something that is nice and that you would like to receive.

I am not setting any specific rating requirements, and I will angel. However, in order to join this swap you must not be late on any swaps that you are currently in. Your profile/ratings must reflect that you have made good on or tried to make good on any no sends or swaps where you didn't send something that met the requirements. Your profile/ratings should also reflect that you have recently been sending on time if you have earned threes for late sends in the past. Newbies are welcome as long as they have a completed profile by the day partners are assigned. Because I am allowing a lot of time to sign up, please login to Swap-Bot the week partners are assigned, so that I know you are still around. People not meeting the above requirements will be automatically banned, but feel free to start your own similar swaps.

If you have any questions, please PM me.

I love the idea of doing origami swaps! Can you do more of these?

hollychihuahua 12/25/2011 #

Carmen, yes I plan to do more. I'll let you know when I do.

I goofed. I realized that I was looking at January on my 2011 calendar and I've set the send date on the 14th, which is a Saturday. I never like Saturday send dates because of the difficulty it creates with the post office closing early or sometimes just being closed period. Then people send late or flake, which I don't want to happen here. I am setting the send date for the following week. If this affects anyone's plans, please make the necessary changes. Sorry and thanks.

Partners? I already folded my cranes and I hope to send them before the swap gets flushed by the 'bots!

Sorry guys. A family emergency kept me busy. I just assigned partners and extended the send date a few days until Jan 24th, just in case anyone needed the time to view partner profiles.
