President Spencer W. Kimball gave this counsel: "Every person should keep a journal and every person can keep a journal. It should be an enlightening one and should bring great blessings and happiness to the families. If there is anyone here who isn't doing so, will you repent today and change-change your life?" (in Conference Report, Apr. 1979, p. 117; or Ensign, May 1979, p. 84).

For this swap you will journal every day for the month of December. You can buy or make your journal. There is no limit to how much to write. You simply have to write every day. Below are some prompts to help you out if you get stuck. You do not have to use them, it's up to you. Not every day has to be something spiritual. Some of these are my own ideas and some were taken from MormonShare.com. If I counted right there should be 31 prompts.

*Ask your mother or father to tell you of an event in their lives when they wre your age, and record the story in your journal. *Write about the day you were baptised. *What is your favorite hymn? Why? *Name a book you loved, and tell why? *If you had to live in a different time, what would it be and why? *Have your parents write what a day in their life is like, and put that in your journal. *Was there any place in your house that scared you? Basement? Attic? Any place where you felt especially cozy? *Describe your family home. *Describe family traditions that you remember from your childhood. Do you still practice those traditions? *What is your favorite scripute and why? *What were your father's best traits? His worst? Ones you share. *What were your mother's best traits? Her worst? Ones you share. *What do you feel has been the most significant world event that has takenplace during your lifetime and why? *Where did your grandparents live? What was their home like? *What childhood experiences do I remember, (funny stories, accidents, memories playing, etc.)? *Write down your testimony. *Write about something you are grateful for *Write about how a prayer was answered. *Write about something that drives you batty. *Write about an experience where the spirit blessed/protected/spoke to you. *Write about your favorite Temple experience. *Write about the loss of a loved one and how you coped with that loss. *Write about someone who is very special to you and why. *Write about your Christmas Eve. *Write about your Christmas Day. *Write about a favorite experience with a sibling or close cousin. *What is your favorite Chrismas song and why? *Did you attend seminary in high school? If so write about a memory from seminary. *Did you serve a mission? If so write a little about it. If not write about a missionary you remember visiting your home. *Open your Book of Mormon and read the chapter. Write a summary of the chapter and some thoughts or feelings you have. *Write about your new year's goal.
