Altered Art :: Explosion Box

Do you know what an explosion box is? If you do, you know it's an exciting box with layers of altered fun for photos OR simply altered awesomeness! If you don't, check out this tutorial & visit flickr for examples. :o)

This swap is for 1 partner and USA only. Another officer can host an international one, if they like.

You will make 3 layers (using 3 pieces of cardstock) for your explosion box, alter the front and back of each layer to your heart's desire, and send it flat. You will not glue the lid (also made of cardstock) together. You will alter it, taking into consideration the score lines and how the lid will be folded. Your partner will glue the lid together when they get it. Doing it this way keeps the box undamaged. :o)

In easy terms, using the tutorial here, you will do steps 1-10. Then you will alter the lid but not glue it together.

This is a sender's choice swap. Color schemes, embellishments, ect. can be any that you choose. If you plan to do this swap, you can get started now. :o)

Details to consider & roll eyes at because you know it already ::

1 :: you may use any medium to alter the box (layers) & lid
2 :: the bottom/back of the bottom layer is the outside of the box, just sayin'.
3 :: you do not have to round the edges of your box
4 :: the front and back of each layer should be altered in some way
5 :: do not glue the lid together (unless you want the alter fairy to give you a noogie! saying it three times is overkill i know! :oD)
6 :: you may leave room for photos if you like or alter it completely
