Description:

This is for everyone! Newbie's & international!! Thanks to LaLaLove for letting me make this one international!!

Ok so like LaLaLove I too have been wanting to participate in the stuffie swap. I have just been waitng for the right swap to come along. The dates have been set out a little far. I have alot of swaps going on this month & would like some time to really work on this. You will only be making one & sending one. This really shouldnt cost that much. You should be able to send it in a bubble envie.

In case you're wondering what a stuffie is, this flickr page has examples of previous stuffie swaps. Use the link above to see what they look like. (check out the swap home page link above)

For this swap, each person will have one partner. You will make that partner a stuffie of your choice. You do not get to say what you'd like to receive because I think that may intimidate people who haven't had a lot of experience making stuffies. For hearts: try to go off of your partners profile or send something extra. Remember that this is for Beginners & you are not rating them on if you like it but if they made one & sent it to you.

Please make sure your ratings are good before signing up, please. If you're a newbie, you must have a completed profile!! Open to swappers with ratings over 4.5, and no recent no-sends.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Could your stuffie be a monster as opposed to a realistic animal?

honeya9705 01/ 1/2008 #

it can be anything that you want. What ever is easiest for you to make.

fluffywelshsheep 01/14/2008 #

are they are sooooo cute :)

usagi 01/21/2008 #

is there a limit of what materials the stuffies can be made out of? can i make it out of yarn, or does it have to be felt/fabric?

honeya9705 01/21/2008 #

No anything this is for "Beginners". That could be with yarn if you never make it with yarn or felt, fabric or if you never have made one at all!

Also, I wouldnt worry about size too much just make sure that its not too small, but what ever your comfortable with.

honeya9705 01/21/2008 #

OMG! I just seen that we made top 10!!!! Yay! Thanks to everyone! This is my 1st top ten swap!!!!

sockerhamster 01/22/2008 #

I guess its ok that I join, as you wrote its for newbies? But it says in the text that you must have a rating over 4.5, so which is it?

honeya9705 01/22/2008 #

If your a newbie & havent been rated your ok. If you have a lower rating then please contact me 1st. (this is if you have been in swap bot awhile & have gotten a lower rating

hippofairy 01/22/2008 #

what size should the stuffies be? i guess it should fit in a large bubble envelope?

honeya9705 01/23/2008 #

I'm not going to put a size on it since this is for Beginners, but nothing too small I would say 4 inches or more.

Remember that this is for Beginners & you are not rating them on if you like it but if they made one & sent it to you.

this should be fun! About 20 years ago I came across a pattern for pocket people which my children loved. I just came across the pattern again in my stash. It's about 5 inches tall - so I'll be making a few of these for this swap. Thanks for hosting this swap, Honeya9705!

honeya9705 01/23/2008 #

Your welcome! I just wish I knew what to make! I'm starting to worry!! Anyone want to share what the are making to give some ideas to those of us out here that are still unable to decide what they are making? Do you know of any good pattens? I was thinking about making a starfish... or just a fish.... a monster??? I don't know! :D

swapbotbren 01/26/2008 #

Adorable! Love the individuality of these little creatures. I have one question; I do understand that these are to be sewn together but if I decided to add an embeleshment or two like Lace, buttons sequence etc. in a quality manner could I use fabric glue for the embelishments or they have to be sewn on as well? I just want to make sure I play by the rules :)

Thanks for coordinating this SWAP!

honeya9705 01/26/2008 #

you can glue or sew them on just make sure you are using something that is going to stay on! that way if it is givin to a child or pet it can still be safe!

MommaChelle 01/26/2008 #

Sending mine to Sara Peloquin....Gee I hope she likes it.

mammasan 02/ 3/2008 #

This is my first experience with what you call stuffies. I searched Flickr for stuffies and saw everything from a to z...crocheted, knit, felt, fabric, etc. I think you could get away with calling them amigurumi also. Looking forward also to receiving one I can keep...hahaha
